Nice to see more Tamron lens deals.

Come on SD, bring Tamron 15-30.

Stop posting this slick deal rebate bull crap. This lens is nearly $100 less with no rebate as the normal price.

Seriously, next time I see one of these scam rebates posted I'm never visiting this website again.

from what authorized dealer do you see it for below $400? if you're talking about gray market or scam stores, that's up to you if you want to buy it there..

this is a brand new lens from an authorized dealer, from what I can see, $50 below others and only tax in ny I believe

Standard price seems to be $550. So this is $50 less. Where do you see it for $400? If it's a legit store I would jump on $400 with no MIR !

I agree with the first guy. Too many mediocre deals on SD these days because SD is so influential now anything posted as a deal guarantees sales no matter what price.

Look at this lens on eBay. Manufacturer refurbs (90 day warranty) and gray market new is about ~$300, a little less if you wait for a good deal. Some of these sellers offer up to 5 years sellers warranty, which is risky but who knows? Used in excellent condition is <$200.

This deal is $500 AFTER REBATE!!! AFTER REBATE. $750 before rebate. Now you guys are telling me that a one year manufacturer's warranty is worth $200+ vs a manufacturer refurb or a new gray market??? No way. Not even close. You can almost buy TWO of these gray market lenses for $500. Plus a 3 year SquareTrade warranty is less than $42.00... and I'd much much much rather have a 3 year SquareTrade than a 1 year warranty from Tamron.

$750.00 out the door and $500.00 AR is at best a mediocre deal. And calling it "mediocre" is being generous. Really once you consider the huge rebate it's just a bad deal. But at least with an SlickDeals rebate you know SD is being semi-transparent about selling shit to you instead of all the other times when they're posting mediocre "deals."

FYI, Tamron manufacture warranty is 6 years. In addition, Tamron, sigma and any other non-canon lens tend to not be compatible with newer canon camera's (or firmware upgrades) every few years. If you're under warranty, you're sure to be covered, otherwise, you may not be able to apply firmware or fix your grey market lens (at least, not for cheap)

Why, the Canon and Sigma lenses blow them away in quality. I had to resell my last Tamron purchase, a 150-600. Call Sigma and talk to them before you buy a Tamron lens.

or you could watch 150-600 reviews and make the decision before you made the purchase. Just because one of their lenses is a dog doesn't mean they all are.

Tamron 15-30 f/2.8 is really a nice lens. That was a hit before Canon released awesome 16-35 f/4.

I agree Tamron makes some nice lenses, they do have competition in 150-600 area.
Nikon 200-500 (few hundreds more) and Sigma 150-600 Sport (double the price) lens are better Smilie

It was $499 on Amazon 2 weeks ago but now it's $549 [amazon.com] which isn't bad (no MIR).
