How is this compared to Alienware Alpha i5 w/ 8gb? In terms of GPU and size? Interesting.

*I guess it's prob not Oculus-ready

**NEVERMIND, Alpha is better .... https://prezi.com/xfxsm-kjnn-j/al...rog-g20aj/

That link points to the Asus being better, if anything. There's no real info or opinion on there, just specs.

The i7-4790 is considerably better than the i5-4590T (~4Ghz with hyperthreading vs. ~3Ghz without). The non-mobile GTX 760 in the Asus is about equivalent to a GTX 950, while the GTX860m in the alpha is comparable to a GTX 750ti.

The Asus looks bigger and will use a little more power and seems like it has to be stored vertically.

And no, neither of these will do VR well at all. You need a $200+ video card (RX480 or GTX970 or GTX1060 or better) for that.

The comparison is based on the normal price. don't see an Alpha i5 out there for 399 unless I'm missing them.

There is an additional 20% off with coupon code. I don't plan to use mine. Here it is 365226.

Also the i3 version with the gtx 745 is available for $299 minus 20% if you can find one anywhere. Only see a display item near me. Happy hunting.
