Anyone know a good after market car warranty for a used car?

My son bought a used 2016 BMW X3 (non-CPO) with 17,920 miles and the dealer offered after market warranty through Assurant Solutions but they seem to have terrible review online. I would have preferred that he purchased a CPO BMW but what's done is done. (sigh) Also, BMW's original factory warranty is not transferable in resale and my understanding is that you cant buy extended BMW warranty on non-CPO vehicle.

I heard that after market warranties are generally terrible but any insight would be appreciated. Thanks

The BMW Maintenance Plan is not transferable to 2nd owners but the factory warranty certainly is.

Aftermarket "extended warranties" are insurance policies, nothing more. None of them are worth it but if it makes you sleep better at night, get only the factory extended warranty. Almost all others will make you go through hoops to get anything done.

Actually, just spoke to local dealership. As long as it's still within the factory warranty period (in this case 4 yr/50k miles), even a second owner can buy extended warranties from BMW dealers. Problem solved.
