Historical lowest price is $3.99, but I think this price is still pretty good for what you get. I tested mine today on Windows with four devices connected and CrystalDiskMark running on two USB 3.0 flash drives simultaneously. Everything seemed to work smoothly, and I had no issues with keyboard + flash drive detection at BIOS / EFI.
The shell design is surprisingly useful. It can stably hold my 10.6" tablet in landscape orientation, so it should have no trouble holding phones upright.
The chipset is supposedly VIA VL812. I don't know why they say "Aluminum Alloy" on the little manual insert, the construction is completely plastic.
