I would buy that fractal design if it was the windowed version

I'm on the other end of the spectrum: I've heard the windowless version is more quiet, so this is a purchase for me. Thanks OP.

Do want the windowed version here as well. Small acoustic variances aren't much of an issue when I'm wearing headphones listening to music anyway.

I have the Define R4 regular. Nearly 3 years strong. Always surprise my friends with how quiet my setup is - really love it. I kind of wish I had a window panel as well, though. I would recommend the window if you tidy up the insides and would care to look at it.

As far as pricing goes, this is a pretty regular sale price for this case. Do also consider the Define S, which is priced lower without sacrificing many features.

Darn. I knew it would happen, but I grabbed the standard R5 just a a couple days ago for $10 more. Couldn't fit my new 1070 into my R3, and felt silly waiting for another 10 off while my shiny new 400 dollar card (ASUS ROG Strix) sat in a box.

It is a great case, and a nice upgrade over my R3. I personally grabbed one extra 140mm fan for it though.

Excellent product, I have a r4 and it is the best case I have used in my 30 years of PC Builds.

I love my R4 as well. The best case I have used for a build hands down.

Why are Fractal cases always expensive? Solid/ aluminum cases?

I don't know off the top of my head what the material is but they are definitely solid, heavy and quiet. Also does a great job keeping dust out.
