This deal seems to be pretty meh. This price is lower than this GPU usually retails for (closer to $300 from the looks of it), though this GPU was $250 only a couple days ago. If you aren't in dire need of a GPU, I would suggest your wait until another price drop happens or look to other GPUs.

Seeing as how the RX 480 and R9 390X are so close in terms of performance, you might be better off with a reference RX 480 at $249 for similar performance, or an AIB RX 480 for a slight edge over the 390X (albeit a bit more expensive).

While I agree that this isn't considered a good deal with all the new cards floating around (esp. considering it's after a rebate too) I don't think a custom RX 480 will outperform a R9 390X at stock. Probably somewhere between the 390 and 390X

After looking through some benchmarks, RX 480s look to be between 5 and 10 percent behind R9 390Xs. I figured a custom PCB, better cooler, and higher factory clocks would allow for at least a 5-10% performance boost, no?
