Unless you have a platform bed, a box spring is required. Not only that, the manufacturer may go so far as to say it has to be the one that goes with the mattress. That, and any stains (including from new sheets bleeding onto the mattress) will void the warranty.

*Full disclosure - I am a salesperson, but this is exactly what we hear from the manufacturers whenever we try to do an exchange. If we don't follow the manufacturers guidelines, we won't get credit if we do an exchange, which is why the salespeople tell you that. However, don't buy the over priced mattress protector from the store, you can find a good quality one for less than $50 on Amazon.

Any experience regarding the box spring being a requirement to honour the warranties?
Thanks!

It will be manufacturer specific, but I've heard in the past (from a salesman, of course) that the box spring is required

Well, I have a box spring already. What I was wondering if I need to add the box spring that matches the mattress in the website, or if I am able to re-use the one I am using with my current mattress.

Unfortunately, some stores require you to buy their cheap, overpriced mattress protector. I bought a mattress from Nebraska Furniture Mart (NFM) and they stated that if I did not buy their mattress protector, I would forego any and all warranty coverage. The mattress was not that expensive, a full size for my 3-year-old's new bedroom set, so I told them I'd do without the warranty and bought a better, more modestly priced mattress protector elsewhere.

I can't duplicate the $649 deal on Sealy Posturepedic Cooper Mountain III Plush Euro Pillow Top...

Is anyone still seeing that price?

Nevermind. The link for the KING was not working, but if I used QUEEN and then on the site, change to KING, I can duplicate the price. The prices listed in the OP are not available without clicking through the SD links, as far as I can tell.

I gave this a shot from last deal and ultimately returned it. I now am trying out the Purple mattress and I like it SO much better. Its not your typical memory foam mattress since it is a hybrid between memory foam and a top layer to be firm where it needs to be and soft where it needs to be.

I don't think I can go back to typical spring or memory foam mattresses ever again. Im tempted to try out Leesa as well, which is around $800.

The prices here are good, I want to say that first so my post isn't simply thread crapping. That said, the mattress and box spring I bought from here is not a quality product. I had one replaced under warranty due to springs pressing out the side (not puncturing the fabric, but obviously not right), and the replacement ended up sagging in the middle after a year or two.

I'm not 100% sure at this point, but I believe I purchased the Cooper Mountain mattress.

I still can't understand what's is better - coil or memory foam. Is there a good source to learn the differences?
