As you may have noticed, Slickdeals has been experiencing ongoing network outages. Rest assured we have our best and brightest working hard to fully restore service. You may still be able to access the site intermittently, but sporadic outages are still expected at this time. Thank you for your patience and please stay tuned to our FB and Twitter feeds when needed.

Our Slickdeals site and apps continue to experience intermittent outages, but have been improving over the past few hours. We have determined the cause to be a persistent Distributed Denial of Service attack. We're doing everything we can to fight it off and get the site working for you. Our team has been working tirelessly through the night, and will continue to work closely with our ISP and other service providers until service is fully restored. We appreciate your patience and support.

Thanks for the update!

I'm going to come out and ask it bluntly, because it often ends up being the case later on with big outages like this:

Is there any indication that there was a breach of Slickdeals infrastructure that may put users private information at risk, whether hashed, plaintext or otherwise?

There is no indication that there was a breach of Slickdeals infrastructure or user data. The outage is localized at our network ability to serve traffic.

i've heard that if schooby snacks are placed strategically amongst key traffic intersections, SD'ers will post phenomenal server deals and all will be well again in SD land.

Sure, NP. I am just one of a few messengers... there are many who are working long hours to get this fixed.

And we really do appreciate everyone's patience and loyalty.

Thanks for the update with more info...somewhat surprised this site would be an attractive target for that sort of thing. Guessing some random merchant selling crap that you banned got upset. Hoping eventually SD will be able to pursue legal action against the party(s) responsible.

I would blame that guy that is constantly complaining about how bad the redesign is. He seems to have an axe to grind and is a pretty shady character.

In fairness, I often complain about redesigns too....like my comfy worn out leather chair with an imprint of my ass. Lot of comfort in familiarity. nod

What response will eventually sold this issue. because its happening again this morning...is their hardware/software layer that keeps this from happening to big businesses like Amazon, Ticketmaster, Ebay etc etc?
