24Ct Blue moon Beer

(Belgian Style Wheat Ale (20) + (4) White IPA for $16.99, Mail in Rebate)

Was at my local Costco store and didn't see this posted. This wasn't displayed as the usual Costco rebate but rang up at the register. Not sure if this is member only, since my Costco lets non member pick up booze. Regular price $24.99

Rebate Exp. 08/31

Too far for me to go for beer, but thumbs up on the price! Normally a 12-pack is $14.

"Blue Moon Brewing Co. is an entity of Tenth and Blake Beer Company, the craft and import division of MillerCoors."

BeerAdvocate Ratings put this a hair better than PBR.

PBR

Blue Moon is a hair's breadth better than Miller... if you squint.
Why are people so concerned with what other people enjoy drinking.

Since they got bought by Coors, they are garbage, just like Sam Adams. Their beers have gone down in quality for quantity.

I'm a big Blue Moon fan, but don't currently have the room in my fridge for 24. Great deal!

So is this only at Costco? Not SAMs club? What is the price before mail in rebates? How much is the rebate that give a net price of $17

It's a great deal for blue moon. But I think this might be a local Costco deal. I found burger patties for $5 instead of $10 that was a local deal too no coupon book deal.

I've posted on how to use Newegg reviews so you can extract significant comparative data. These are in and of themselves next to useless. Here's why.

You need to have blind taste testing. Period. Ratings when a person is aware of the branding can be a real problem. Are there more haters vs. fanboys (think Apple products)? Plus you have another problem, and that is due to price point/distribution, is Blue Moon going to be a "gateway" Belgian style beer for people who have never tried one, and are never going to like the taste anyway (and one of my sisters once treated me for my birthday present to an import with a latch top and a sailing ship the name escapes me right now. It was phenomenally better but the 20 or 24 oz bottle was more than most US craft brewer 6 packs, and it was before a connection was made to a alcohol intolerance that causes me to bleed if I drink more than a beer at this point every other day or so).

So you have to compare not just apples to apples, but cooking apples to cooking apples, i.e. low end wheat beers, for example. Plus, it helps to learn about the tendencies the various brands have. For example, while I like Bass IPA, the Sierra Nevada brand for me both over-hops it and the hops it uses with its IPA evidently aren't ones I prefer. Or knowing you like some Stouts, but prefer ones with more solids/less roasting to get the color/feel. Thus I avoid Guinness, which is a perfectly good Stout but not the style I like (some of the British Oatmeal Stouts are excellent, again - to me).

Plus these reviews don't really look at the drinking pattern of the individual. If I was 20 years old and looking for a couple of beers a night, I might attach a premium to the price. If instead I get one or two servings of cider/beer a week, due to natural tendencies and/or other issues, I might want to spend a little more per bottle (wine by the bottle is not practical at all given my intake restrictions - plus I never drink when I go out as in my state any admitted intake of alcohol or blood test showing any level of alcohol and an officers statement that in their professional opinion the driver was "under the influence" is enough to file charges, and I have a better use for $7,000 or so for the average DUI defense in my area. Never been charged, and keeping it that way - and since my old job of over 20 years had a .02 limit during random substance testing, I never developed the habit anyway).
