You'll probably have to call to find out if they can match the price. However, I would prefer the stainless band even if I planned on wearing it with leather. These bracelets are expensive and if you ever decide you want a bracelet or decide to sell it, you'll be glad you didn't go with leather. You can buy a nice leather band for well under $50, possibly much less with a good sale. Then when it wears out, you just swap it for another one.

Nice watch. I agree on keeping the stainless band. But like the leather band option as well. Any recommended places to buy nice leather band for the watch?

Nice, modern size as well - 40mm case with 20mm lugs equals endless strap options and case size fits on most any wrist.

This is a nice deal for Swiss ETA auto from an established, well known brand.

TU from me but I have way too many watches already!

How many watches do you have? What is considered too many, if there's such a thing?

Isn't 40mm fairly small for a men's watch face?

I have a full watch box right now. If I were to count my beaters I would say close to 20 watches and that is after downsizing over the winter. I've been collecting and selling watches for over 25 years now as a hobby/secondary income for the "fun fund".

Some watches are for collecting only. A couple are investments and will be handed down to my sons. Others have specific purposes (I do a lot of camping and hiking so have a Suunto, ProTrek and others). I rotate daily wear watches depending on mood and occasion. I had around 30 watches and realized it was ridiculous as most were collecting dust. Sold off a bunch and reinvested in some nicer pieces to hang on to.

This Hamilton is a very nice and versatile watch. It could be easily dressed up on a black Croc strap. Leave it on bracelet to keep it more sporty/classic. Throw it on a G10 NATO and you could pull it off as a field/officer watch. The movement is the workhorse ETA and should be accurate and you can get it serviced anyplace that does decent watch repair. You can even replace the movement for not much money if you had to down the line but at this price that would not be cost effective.

i wish I had only 20.
its a disease.

this one looks vintage(ish) but at the 40mm size its more of a modern(ish) size.
this one will look great on leather as well. as other have said...even if you want leather, buy it on the stainless bands and then buy a leather band.
it will increase the resale value and if you change your mind on wanting stainless.......it won't be cheap or you may not be able to find one.
ymmv
