Believe it or not, I called Dell back and asked if they could offer me a further discount. I stated the following,
I told them that there was a 30% off coupon available at the time i placed the order but the rep forgot to mention to me (which I really think was available)
Also, I complained about the packaging.
The package arrived with ONLY the box that wrapped the laptop, it was not inside a larger box with more padding, which I was not happy with.
So they offered me 2 options.
They'd pay for a return label and give me a full refund, or give me $93 refund to my credit card that i used to purchase this laptop, which I thought was a random amount but nevertheless I took the offer which brought my total after tax down to $505.88
New Total with further discount $505.88
So with the money I saved, I did some more research on how easy it is to upgrade this laptop and found that it was SUPER easy to do the following upgrades.
- Add 250GB M.2 SATA SSD (don't buy the PCIe as it will not work with laptop, I'm probably going with the Samsung EVO850) to the empty slot that this laptop comes with and clone the original hard drive to to the SSD to boot from, and use the stock 1TB hybrid drive as storage.
- Upgrade the ram to a total of 16GB
I can do all this for around $135, and I think I will see a significant boost in system speed
This is a YMMV Deal, but here is how it works,

Dell Factory Outlet
Under Category Choose "Dell Outlet New"
Under Processor Choose "6th Gen Intel Core i5"
Under Video Choose "NVIDIA"
This should bring up a computer with below specs.

Intel 3165 1x1 802.11ac Wi-Fi Wireless LAN and Bluetooth
6 Cell Battery
Windows 10 Home 64bit English
As you can see, it's listed as $689 on the outlet
There is a chat link on top of the page.
Once in chat, tell the person you are looking at the above laptop.
Ask them if there are further discounts available, and in my case they offered me 15%.
Then i simply asked them if they could add another 3%, and they did without hesitation.
So here is the total:
I did not need to haggle much at all,
They were willing to give me 18% off without much hesitation.
For the price, i think it's a good deal.
I've seen similar laptops with the i5-6300hq quad core costing around $600, almost all of them had the GTX 950M.
This one has the same processor, but has a better video card GTX 960M.
One more note to consider, the dell outlet chat/phone closes at 9PM ET.
