Is this brand any good?.. I've been wanting to get an ar before you aren't allowed to own a baseball bat in california.

DPMS is fine. This is a very fair price.

This would end up costing me around 630 with bullet butten ffl etc.. Is that still fair?

Are they better than the windham arms or the s & w?

Windham is a grade above DPMS and if you can get one at this price it's a steal. S&W is nothing special, my brother had the lower receiver of his crack on him.

Smith is better. Smith also has lifetime guarantee that is stellar. Smith has a good reputation. Windham is better than DPMS. I have seen Smith at this price with iron sights but that was a few months ago.

Keep shopping if you are uncomfortable. Check out slickguns dot com and sometimes it will lead you to other options. 600 bucks is pretty standard right now for a functional economy AR with a few options, taxes and FFL fee.

I've never had a Windham so can't comment on quality. I CAN comment on name recognition if you plan to flip these. People like DPMS because it's an old recognizable brand. People are really starting to love S&W and Ruger though they typically go for a bit more.

This is a solid starter or flipper AR. I wouldn't put this particular model above a S&W or a Ruger, but again you'll pay a bit more for those. These are more bargain ARs.

I'm fairly new to rifles but have more knowledge with pistols. Is this pretty much considered the hi point of ar's? Also would these be comparable to an ati or a del-ton? I've never heard of either of those manufacturers but they have similar pricing at my local shop.

Um no these aren't anything like Hipoints. I wouldn't take a Hipoint if someone paid me to take it. Yes they are about the same as an ATI or a Del-Ton. Maybe a tiny step above a ATI. Pretty much all the same.
