I don't think so. AT&T phones will work with cricket but Cricket phones doesn't work with AT&T.

I love this phone - I used this phone on Ring+ for about a year before I upgraded to Nexus 5x.

This phone is solid for the basic stuff and light browsing - it cannot really handle anything more than the basic stuff, and you need to make sure you use a cooler app (like clean master) because it overheats easily because of the 1 gb ram.

Cricket phones are locked. They will not work on any other carrier, including AT&T, unless unlocked. Unlocking services are $7 and up on eBay.

This phone has been on sale at $30 going on several weeks, if not more than a month now. It's been $20 or less at Target and Walmart in the past, so this isn't by any means a noteworthy price. For $30 more, go with a far better, more capable device and get the Zmax 2. If the Zmax isn't to your liking, wait for the Samsung Galaxy Sol to drop to $50 again.

Please correct your statement, this is locked to Cricket and cannot work on other networks, including cricket's parent network AT&T unless you use the device on Cricket network 3 months then if you are lucky they will unlock it.

Not every device can be unlocked via ebay unlockers, if you are lucky they will refund your money when they cannot unlock it.

AT&T devices work on Cricket
But Cricket devices do not work on AT&T.

I literally just wrote - "Unlocking services are $7 and up on eBay". You don't know how to search eBay?

He wants to unlock his phone not lock it.

Also, he specifically asked for a link, why don't you be a nice helpful person and share a link? It's easy to say "there is a pizza store couple of blocks from here" assuming there is one, since there is almost one in every neighborhood, but it's more helpful if you point the person to one directly. It sounds like you actually used those $7 unlocking services, that's what people want. Recommendation from a reliable source.
If you didn't use them, I suggest you disclose that in your recommendation. "There is bunch of unlocking services on ebay, but I never used them, so I am not sure if they can actually unlock it".

Most people who buy a phone for $30 don't care about the RAM as much. They won't be swapping apps and running games and stalking facebook/twitter/instagram constantly. For $30 it's a steal, and 1GB is more than sufficient for most people.

It's late here. My mistake on missing the "un". Original quote said unlocking so I'm positive he or she knows what I meant.

SD is littered with "how do I do this", "where do I find that", etc. comments these days. If the question is about something complicated or highly technical, that's completely understandable and I will generally try to help if I have experience and knowledge on the topic. But comments like the one here really start to get on my nerves after a while. I typically just ignore them. However, these help me help me, spoon feed me easily accessible info and hold my hand every step of the way personalities should not be enabled. I contribute to this community all the time and am more than happy to assist those that actually need it.

I agree, I should have just not responded, but taking only seconds to search eBay with a search term like "Cricket Samsung Sol Unlock" immediately brings up results now starting at $8.49. And when those results specifically state the provided unlocking service works only on Cricket Samsung phones, including the Sol, why would you assume that service doesn't actually work?

I've been in similar situations when attempting to unlock phones so I don't have any sympathy for this commenter. It's only a few bucks. Give the service a shot. More times than not, it'll work exactly as it should. If it doesn't for some reason, I've always received quick refunds across several different sellers. Should the service not work and the seller happens to be a rare sleazebag, eBay/Paypal will get you your money back. We're only talking about a few bucks here. It's exactly risky. And again, these sellers specifically state their unlocking services will work on the Samsung Sol for Cricket or you'll receive a refund. When descriptions like that are provided I'm not going to waste my time prefacing all my comments with statements like "I haven't tried them so I'm not sure if they can actually unlock it".

SD actually likes people to keep asking same things over and over, and people to answer in threads which gets lost over time, instead if one person updates the wiki with the unlocker they used previously, nobody has to keep asking if it can be unlocked or not, etc..

I'm not asking because I want to argue with you, but how would you know that SD wants people to constantly ask the same questions over and over? SD's business model is based on sales commissions from referral links and site advertising. I truly doubt SD cares what questions are being asked, how many times they're being asked or who is asking them as long as the forum rules are followed. And that wasn't the issue in discussion here anyway.

And regarding info in the wikis and OPs, I've started enough threads by now to know that a lot of people don't even read them. That's part of the root of my frustration here. You try to help by taking the time to provide as much information and direction as possible, but unfortunately a seemingly large and growing number of members here ignore it. Rather than take the time to inform themselves at all, they'd prefer someone else provide the answers for them.

If you disagree I understand. However, I've been very active on SD for several years now, and this trend that at least I've noticed as this site becomes more and more popular just gets to me sometimes.
