IMHO this is a VERY good software to automatically optimize your network (RWIN/MTU/etc) settings.
I have this installed on every PC at home, the software communicate with each other giving priority to which device/protocol need bandwidth the most. Improving VOIP and gaming latency during heavy download.
This software is a lifesaver during my college year because my roommate was a 24/7 torrent junky.

FEATURES
Traffic Shaping

TX & RX Shaping
.... ensures ping times remain low even during downloads, while keeping one download from choking other simultaneous downloads.

ACK-Filter
.... optimizes TCP/IP acknowledgements, thus making more bandwidth available in the upstream channel.

Prioritizing individual programs
.... like games while assigning lower priority to others is especially useful when trying to reserve some extra bandwidth for important applications.

Voice over IP (VoiP) speech quality
.... is improved by recognition and prioritization of RTP packets.

Prioritizing other protocols through layer-7 analysis,
.... like HTTP, FTP, POP3, SMTP, IcmP, SSH, Telnet, and DNS can be done using built-in, programmable filtering rules.

Multi-User version
RWIN Expansion
Class Delay Management
Individual rules with filter language

Options
Low-Latency Mode
Auto-MTU optimization

Extras
Skins
Status window on your phone/tablet
Online Budgets
Usage Graph
Overview of connections

Can't you do all this through router settings? I'm no expert though.

Can't find any info whether it's single or multiple licenses. So I guess it's honor-based for now (for personal one anyway). I've tried it with 2 virtual machines, and no problem so far.
I bought several licenses (for separate hardwares) because the software helped me for over 8 years already; for me, it's a worthy software and I'm glad I can support the devs (they give frequent updates too so far).

Install is very straightforward (you can just even hit next..next.. next until it's finished Big Grin) .
No manual config is necessary. It adjust the settings automatically.
You decide if you want the software to optimize latency, or optimize bandwidth.

Slightly different. Yes, some router has 'speed control' (with various method of forced throttling). But this software can actively communicate with each other, letting each other know if one is heavily downloading something while the other need the bandwidth for VOIP. And adjust accordingly.

I've compared DDWRT, Tomato router throttling in voip(teamspeak)+gaming+heavy torrent+web browsing scenario. This software let me play my online games with minimal 'rubberbanding'/packet loss (if installed on several machines). Significantly better than router-based throttling.

Interesting. I've never messed with those settings on my router so I had no idea. Thanks for sharing the deal.
