Found this while coming up empty on reviews, in case you need a smaller cooker with a known brand: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0...M6P19KPZ74

Made in China if that's a factor for you.

Timer function works only with white, sushi, brown rice and porridge. It does not work with the steamer and does not work with mixed rice

Cuckoo rice cookers are the best and I've tried all; tiger, zori, and many others.

You get what you pay for. Personally, I'd stay away from Tatung. Aesthetically it appears similar to Zojirushi but quality is far inferior. We had a Tatung electric water boiler that started to rust within its first year. On the other hand, our Zojirushi is still in perfect shape after two-year of daily use.

Take into account it's a 8-cup cooker. In my experience, rice cookers work ok when used between 1/2 to 3/4 capacity, and 4 cups it's still a lot of rice. And if you're getting a Zojirushi, make sure you get one with the spherical inner pot, or a similar model with the "thick pot", like Zojirushi-NS-LAC05XA. Also make sure you get the right settings for your needs, like Sushi, Oatmeal, cake baking, steamer, etc.

Looks eerily similar to the Zojirushi I bought from Amazon. Mind you, the timer function on that one also only works for white rice, brown rice and congee. I think this might be worth a try for someone who is thinking instead of buying the Aroma Rice cookers from Costco which is only a little bit less but without the timer function at all. My main concern would probably be the durability of the nonstick lining.

fuzzy logic?
I believe its a more precise way to cook rice. Zojirushi has fuzzy logic and i can never go back.
