Decent at this price, though the 1060 even at MSRP is a better deal.

Yeah, good price before the 1060/1070 came out, but today it would be dumb to buy a 980 at this price. Get a 1060 instead.

This is faster than a 1060 though... currently. Look up some benchmarks.

None the less the only 900 series that I think is really worth it currently is if you can get a good deal on a 980ti. <350 can be found with some digging and that card is on par (if not better) than a 1070.

why is 1060 better deal? 1060 only perform as good as 970 level. this is better deal .

anyone know if these are a Unilateral Minimum Resale Price (UMRP) product? and excluded from the 10% coupon they sometimes offer?

the 1060 and 980 provide virtually identical dx11 performance with the 980 maybe being 2-5% faster in the best case scenario. with dx12 the 1060 is about 2-5% faster all around. the 1060 is the better card no doubt. this deal is only good for those who need to sli with a 980 that they already own. otherwise just get the 1060.

1060 GTX has more memory so unless you've already got a 980 and wanna go SLI. Its clearly not worth the price.

Reason I stated 1060 is a better deal is that these are both 1080p cards. Maybe 1440p on games from 2-3 years ago. There is not too much performance difference between the two, but there is a huge difference in power consumption and the 1060 is 10-15% cheaper but not 10-15% slower. Also NV is known to pick up 5-10% as the drivers mature on current gen cards while previous gen stay roughly the same. As stated in this thread, really only reason to jump on this is if you have one already and are looking to SLI.
