Not for me neither but.... This is a Skylake 6th gen (CPU Bench 3506), newer 8GB DDR4 memory with a 1080P (1920x1080) IPS panel, backlit keyboard (per Staples), etc. so I wouldn't exactly say it's old and ready for AARP membership quite yet nor a bad deal. The negatives I see is that the CPU & graphics might be a little pedestrian for some and it has a HDD vs SSD. Drop a SSD in this and you would have a solid machine.

I like it, you don't see DDR4 much on an i3 laptop. This would be great for my mom.

Trolling has reached new level.

I don't necessarily think he was trolling though I do think his message was terribly done which made it pretty useless without this added information. I think what he was trying to say was the Best Buy deal for the higher model (not newer versus older, i5 versus i3) was a better deal. The link is found here:

http://slickdeals.net/f/8994415-dell-inspiron-2-in-1-13-3-touchscreen-laptop-i5-6200u-8gb-ram-256gb-ssd-win-10-499-99-489-99-w-visa-checkout-w-best-buy-edu-coupon-free-shipping?src=SiteSearchV2_SearchBarV2Algo1

For the 13.3 inch model its the 7368 versus the 5368 model here. Which means i5 and ssd versus i3 and 500gig hd. I picked up the best buy model for my wife open box after visa checkout and amex deal with tax I paid $425. I will agree its a nice laptop and was a great deal but the deal is expired now so the point is rather moot.

Thanks for explaining. Yeah the other one is a better deal. I plan on buying this and replacing the HDD with a SSD so in the end it will be very similar, just the CPU difference which I doubt my mom will ever notice. There isn't that big a gap in performance between an i3 and i5 mobile CPUs, its about ~10%.

Np and I don't disagree with any of that. I would definitely get the ssd unless you need a ton of space the ssd is a huge performance booster here. I mostly got the for my wife as she needed something for her meetings at work that was lightweight and a good build. This thing is very sturdy and looks very high end. I actually want to find the 11 inch equivalent for myself. My wife was super happy when I took back the Yoga 2 we got for her and got this instead.

Last line of my comment that you replied to was...

" I will agree its a nice laptop and was a great deal but the deal is expired now so the point is rather moot. "

So I agree the deal is dead :/ I was just attempting to explain what I am pretty sure the useless comment was referring to. I didn't insult this one over that one or anything. Both are good deals. I was happier to get the open box for price of this but sometimes its worth paying more for new untouched Smilie

sorry for my first reply, and yes, I was referring to the bestbuy deal, which expired just now.
I have both version of those laptop, and here are the diff.
i5 vs i3
newer model has usb-c (usb-3.1) so you can charge it via usb-c, and hook up to 4k monitor for 4k@60hz.
newer model has all-metal case and looks much, much better that the old all plastic case.
newer model has 256g ssd (m.2) vs 512gb 5400rpm hard drive.
newer model gives slightly better battery life, not sure if it's because my older battery is degraded or my older one is using 540rpm hard drive.
newer one has a slightly better keyboard.

given all of those, I would wait for the next deal or get an open box for $743.99 - student coupon $150.

I got the newer i5 deal, and the only thing I don't like is the screen space. Feels like they decided to cut costs by putting a smaller screen on a 13" frame with a large bezel. I recommend testing it out before buying because you might feel it's too small.

Am I the only one who feels uncomfortable using bestbuy's .edu coupon if I'm not a student? I would have loved to have jumped on that other deal.
