Last deal was for $80 -15 in points. Wanted to pull the trigger but after reading comments about the small base plate opening, I got cold feet. This time it's more upfront money but more points back. I'm still gonna pass and wait for the digital router to drop in price but thanks for posting.

Hmm, digital one looks like has same base plate opening from pics (hard to tell though). In any case I don't see it as an issue, if your using such a wide bit, you really should be using this in a router table. Wide bits are dangerous when used by hand. Also, you could always buy a piece of plastic or plexiglass and cut it to size and put a larger hole in it for when you want to use wide bit by hand.

I'm thinking of this for my router table (current router is nice but doesn't have variable speed (when using wider bits, good to slow the speed down)

Digital router has a set of hinged openings for various sizes. It's not even close to being the same. If you read the one star comments of the posted unit, you will see that one review talked about not being able to use a 3/8" round over bit because the hole is too small. I don't think 3/8" is that big. Another reviewer talked about trying to buy other plates and you can order a set for $20 bucks but that defeats the dollar savings. It makes little sense.

This is for wood working and not a network router.

Not a great deal imo. I got this router 10 days ago at $70.41 with 30,000 points. The item sale price was $80.09 - $15 surprised pts + tax. Obviously, that was then this is now scenario. I've noticed this router goes on sale frequently though. Great router nonetheless.

Also, this Craftsman router table has $30.63 back in points. If you are in the market for a router table, consider this. Can't go wrong with $32 for a router table. It's not a Bosch that costs 5-6 times more. You get what you pay for. Good enough for an amateur like me.

Still too much for a craftsman. Should be 80 or less.

Yes, but points roll. If have $34 in points, essentially lowers price to under $30 before taxes!

No but you can run it through Tomato and it'll make a huge mess.
