there is no hard drive in this.. Your question can't be answered because no one but you knows what hard drive you would be putting in it. I have this system and i have a 3tb hard drive and currently it has 24 days of recordings but that is only 4 camera's running.

Fair deal. These are Hikvision rebranded for those that are unaware. Same setup has gone for $449 in the past, but still a solid deal if in the market for one now.

I wonder if hikvision cameras are cheaper?. I care less about the branding like lorex Swann or this la view.

I have the 4 camera set of this. Bought a 3tb hdd and raised the recording quality slightly. I can get about 18 days of recording for each camera

Great system. I would recommend it. I bought a separate PoE switch though so I could have them on the same subnet as my devices for tinycam app streaming and easier remote viewing without having to use the crappy laView app.
The PoE ports on the nvr are set to a subnet of 192.168.254.xx and can't be changed

I have no issues using the IVMS app made by hikivision to stream to my phone.

NVR made by LTS or none. Sure they are expensive but super packed with features. LTS uses hikvision NVRs but uses their own OS. About the cameras, there are many choices.

Don't get too excited about hikvision cameras. Unless you are buying them from US, in that case pretty much no store sells them and you have to get it from local authorized dealer. They are nice cameras but the question is from where you are getting them.

About the eBay or aliexpress hikvision cameras, you better do your due diligence before buying them. Thanks me later!!

Yeah it is a bit annoying that there is no way to bridge the network. I think I changed the DHCP to match the subnet but it couldn't get past the NAT...I don't quite remember but I ended up doing the exact same as what you did with the separate POE. I'm still setting up my system...I sort of want Nest Cam features with phone notifications and ability to see a motion clip view cloud. I think blue iris can do this, is there a way to do this with the NVR? Thanks in advance.

15 fps or 20 fps as the highest you should use for recording. Also 960p can do the best than using full 1080p for recording. Unless you wants to record footage to read license plate of a car 100 meters away from your camera. Anything more than that for recording means you own hard drive manufacturing company and you have unlimited storage option.

That's the reason I recommend LTS even though they actually are made by hikvision. I can easily set built in PoEs to my liking. I actually have set them for my liking.

Also try to pick 1/2.8" or bigger sensor than common 1/3" sensor. Also if made by Sony and at least IMX 222 or better. Or else your choice if you care less about sensor choice.

These are over priced compared to other brands... Not slick in my opinion.
