triple actually, 1 HDMI and 2 (daisy-chained) DisplayPort

no, but other Chromeboxes can, this one just has some firmware peculiarities I haven't figured out yet

exactly

no, the Broadwell GPU doesn't do HEVC decode; you need either Braswell or Skylake, but both of those are limited to 8-bit decoding/output, so kinda worthless. ApolloLake/KabyLake look to have full 10-bit HEVC, HDMI 2.0, etc. but no Chromebox on the horizon.

FWIW it's actually back in stock at ebay but up to $120 now and doesn't include the free speaker offered directly from NewEgg.

So if you want it for the same price without the free speaker but from ebay instead, you can do that.

I see Amazon in the title and NewEgg is the seller?

Anyone know if this can handle two displays? I see it has a Display port and HDMI but didn't know if the system could handle both at the same time.

Edit: Nvm I see in the specs that dual displays are supported.

I think I'm gonna replace a windows machine with one of these or the Asus model. I read that Chrome OS was going to have full play store integration with apps. I think that it's already working on some chromebooks. I was waiting on that to happen before I pulled the trigger. Anyone know when that will roll out on all Chrome OS hardware?

Broadwell can software decode 720p HEVC without an issue. Just don't try to push it to 1080p as it gets flaky.

sometime this fall, just make sure it's a Broadwell model, as the Haswell ones aren't getting Play Store support

it (and Haswell) can do some 1080p HEVC, depends on bitrate and encoding settings used. Also, dual-channel memory helps a lot. My Asus Celeron 2955U w/4GB (2x2GB) can s/w decode lots of HEVC 1080p content (when played thru Kodi)

I just ordered this 5 minutes ago, with the free bluetooth speaker offer, for $120 free ship, so it's still valid.

I have the same ThinkCentre (minus bluetooth speaker), works great for general web browsing and google docs / hangout etc. Buying a second to experiment with linux on it.

Not sure when, but from the eBay thread the other day this one is going to be supported.
