Looks like it doesn't work with alexa... would've bought if it did.. Good price nevertheless

I don't know about this item, but their support is great! I had a webcam go bad after about 18 months, thinking I was out of luck and just looking for suggestions, and they said RMA it and sent out a replacement.

Responses were really quick too. I figured I would post for those that have never heard of them.

And no IFTTT nor any other home automation system support, so you are limited to their app and you can't use it to trigger other things.

PS: Correct me if I'm wrong.

I have one, it's alright but one infuriating thing is after a power outage it defaults to the off position.

No support via IFTTT or Alexa, So you're locked into their app and however long they support it.

how does this connect to the Internet?
If I can turn this thing on/off anywhere outside my home, then it should be connected to the Internet somehow, right?

EDIT
Answer was in QnA

I have two of them, works ok, I'm still hoping for ifttt support sometime. You can hit their api from using some commands if you wanted to hack something in.

All it took was a single open-close sensor for me to decide not to bother with smart gadgets that, out of the box, don't work with SmartThings, Amazon Echo, or IFTTT. Ain't nobody got time for that.
