Found a crazy price mistake on Amazon. Will I get the exact item I ordered?

unknownsoldierX 245 36 August 17, 2016 at 12:51 AM
I found the item listed as new under a 3rd party seller. Item goes for around $500, but it was listed for a little over $1 with free shipping. Seller is listed as "just launched". Item ships from Australia and says it takes 4-6 weeks for delivery.

Got an Amazon email saying that the item has shipped. What are the chances that I get a different item than what was listed on Amazon?

So you're saying I'll get some cheap accessory thingy?

You'll get nothing most likely

This was an unnecessary question, imo. Common sense says you'll most likely not receive a single thing.

I'm only asking because I got an email saying that it shipped. So I'm getting something shipped from Australia for a total under $2.

C'mon OP - you need to tell us what you ordered and give a link. If it retails for $500 and you got it for $2 why not buy 1,000 and flip them?

It was probably someone trying to make a fake ad for price matching in store for an idiot cashier.

It was for a LG G5 phone. At the time I ordered it, there wasn't anything else in the merchant's store. It' since been removed and now there are a bunch of screen protectors.

Looks like you've ordered a screen protector for a phone you don't own.

I'll be buying the phone soon anyway. That's how I found the listing mistake.

I'm thinking you will get a picture of a screen protector package that has a picture of the phone you wanted on it.

One time, I got a car part that was grossly mislabeled. It was a rear bumper valance going for around $1000 and hard to find since Audi doesn't make them anymore.

It was listed as a front piece for $89 shipped. I saw the photos and knew it could not be the front piece. So I did more looking and research and found out what it really was. Bought it at $89 and now I'm happy as a clam.

Not sure if that exactly applies to your situation, but I thought it was similar enough to share.
