Hey, everyone! As an avid Bing Rewards user, this is important news to me. Some of the core, fundamental additions/changes are re-branding the program name, converting credits to points, adding more incentives [bing.com] to browse the web via Microsoft Edge, and creating tighter integration with shopping at the Microsoft and Windows stores. nod

While there is no concrete date for when the migration will actually occur, Microsoft is adding some fluffy pillows to the transition by making all existing Bing Rewards members as of August 15, 2016 the highest tier (i.e. Level 2) through October 31, 2016. woot

You can find more details in the attached chart or make your way over to the FAQ [bing.com]. Smilie

edit1// Gift cards from non-Microsoft brands will be no longer be discounted per sillieidiot's keen eyes

Yeah I read through the stuff. It looks like it sucks for me now because I mainly use it to redeem for amazon gc. They are saying that there is no longer going to be a 10% discount on non-Microsoft branded gc. It's like you're permanently silver status for those items. Everything MS branded will be 10% off though.

It doesn't say when they are going to transition/roll out the service exactly though. I want to know so I can search like hell then redeem all my points before then lol

Yeah, that's a very good catch bulb. Considering that most of the $5 Amazon.com gift card trades come out of Bing Rewards, I have a good feeling most of the people on Slickdeals are in the same boat as you, haha. I'll be sure to update my original post accordingly. Thanks.

I do wonder if the removal of the 10% discount on gift cards from non-Microsoft brands could be curbed by increasing your points accrual rate, though. I guess we'll see once the new program rolls out in its entirety. Confused

I don't see that it is already posted. So thought of posting here.

Today I got mail saying that Bing rewards is becoming Microsoft rewards and they are changing many things.

Importantly there won't be 10% discount for gold members on third party reward redemptions like amazon, starbucks etc.

F* them, they closed my account for no reason and stole $50 in points. Bing is a terrible search engine full of irrelevant results anyway.

That what they are doing. They have to. Google is kicking Microsoft's ass everyday.
they couldn't beat google and apple with their Windows Phone R.I.P.

Microsoft isn't going anywhere if that's what you're implying. As of last year bing has a 33% share of the search if you count the deal they made with yahoo. Is bing good? I don't think so but 33% of searches queried online aren't because they have a rewards system.

They actually do to remain competitive.

We do the work, they reap the rewards for clicks and numbers of customers, and give back very little. Now, they will lose tons of customers and clicks because they don't want to give us pennies from their dollars.

Yeah, 33% is horrible, FYI.
