It takes way too much GPU power to drive a 4k monitor for gaming. And at this point over x1440, there are diminishing returns in visual upgrade.

I hope this means the 1440s are dropping soon too... Would love a curved one at sub $500... I know it's wishful thinking (maybe even 144hz hahahahhaha)

Curved, 144Hz, 34 inch Ultrawides for under $500? Yeah... those won't be around anytime soon.

Excellent product. Great resolution. however, i had to return it as my office laptop could only cover part of the huge screen. Stretched image doesn't look good. There is a split screen option which did not work on my company laptop. if your laptop can project to 34 inches, really good deal.

price is high, panel for any 4K reasonably priced is TN instead of IPS, and going to need a really good GPU

I have a 4k Asus zenbook laptop, certain games aren't formatted right and are about a 10th of the size of normal, even reverting settingsback to 1080p doesn't work, all icons are constantly undersized or to large, no happy medium. It required a lot more power so battery life slacks, and a massive part of it is the price. The price for what you get makes it a bit unreasonable. I can barely tell the difference between the 4k and 1080p, and most videos I watch I end up putting back to 1080p, but it takes so long to stream, and I'm on 150mb/s internet... Granted this is a laptop, and just my personal experiences. Others may have different opinions. But imo 4k isn't what it's made out to be. 1440 ultrawide monitors make 10x more since then a 4k normal.
