UPDATE: The deal is over, but I can't figure out how to mark the post as such from the mobile app. Silly mobile app.

This game is worth $20 TOPS! I played all weekend and never want to play again unless they add some actual content. There is nothing to do...

Since the author of the game wanted it to be a "very chill" game, it sounds like something for people who want to get high and play a video game, not realizing they just blew $50+ on a sh*tty game.

I've not seen a trailer for the game yet, and one of my co-workers described it as something he was looking forward to, but after reading that someone finished it in like 20 hours or something like that, I have to wonder what the real worth of the game is. Plus, no co-op or multiplayer.. Maybe I just expect too much from games these days.

I think $20 might still be too much. It will be interesting to see where the price is at in 3-6 months.

Why is this being downvoted? This is literally the best price on the internet right now. Maybe I don't know how to slickdeals?

Because many people detest the game and think it is overpriced for what you get. And there is no resell value like there would be for Beats headphones (which many people think are overpriced, but one can resell for the right price).

I haven't played no mans sky, but i did read about major disappoint over on the no mans sky subreddit.

I actually enjoyed the game, 18.2 hours in, I'm still playing it. I wasn't too hyped at all and maybe that's why I wasn't disappointed. I'm a huge fan of sandbox type of gameplay and I have also played elite dangerous. I'd give the game a 7/10. wish I got it at this price instead of $60 though

For people who seriously did want to try NMS, and want to use this deal to save $9, do yourself a favor and search the subreddit, Steam reviews and the HG forum (does that even exist) for your system components. Make sure people with your graphics card/etc. aren't having nagging issues.

Even then, it might be a crap-shoot (it was for me). If you don't want to take the risk, wait a couple weeks to see if the devs are able to stabilize things.

You could even look at the mods coming out to see if the issues they fix would be deal-breakers for you (crazy instagram filter-effect, scanlines, chromatic abberation, long-press to click anything, etc.). There are a lot of caveats- but it is an interesting game despite all that.

Good deal, bad price.
I won't downvote the deal but I was more fair and said this Indy game should not be a penny over $30 MSRP.
To see them asking $60 for it blows my mind.
If you can hold out, you will be seeing this for sub $20 in a month. Take it to the bank.

why is it no one can seemingly explain what the game is? like everywhere i go on the internet, there is comments about it, issues, etc, but no one can summarize succinctly what kind of game it is.

yeah sandbox, but so what - is there an objective? I heard people complaining there is nothing to do. surely there is something to do.

100 internet high fives for the first person to succinctly convey what you do in the game.
