Most people don't have the skills, welder, brake, etc. to make one of these themselves, and then there is the cost of the materials. For under $100, this is a great deal.

You could make a generic work bench out of 2x4s and plywood for half the cost, but then you would have a generic work bench made from 2x4s and plywood instead of a steel framed bench with a stainless top.

Ew.... Metal work benches are terrible imho. They scratch things up, can't saw, drill into them.... This is a table, not a workbench.

looks nice. btw, the 96" is only $200 too. the 72" does not seem to be as deeply discounted

Wish the 72" Bamboo were 50% off. 48" would be too short and 96" a bit too long.

Bought this last week using bonus points from the Sears cuisinart deal. Arrived yesterday and it's very nice and will make a great gun bench. Easily assembly, quality powdercoating on the frame. Great bench, especially st $100.

I agree, what good DIYer would settle for a ready made bench.

Also, a steel surface is a lot less useful than wood for most projects IMO.

i bought some folding shelf brackets and a 3x5' piece of plywood and made my own workbench that can fold away flat in my garage. very useful, and total price was about $22 including the screws.

I ordered the 96" (8') bench with bamboo top:

For about $215 w/tax, that's hard to beat for a steel frame long bench! Now I just have to measure my space when I get home to see if it fits...

How would I make a bench when I need a bench to make a bench?
