We've been having a great time with this game! The strategy is a bit different than normal Pandemic (similar to Risk vs Risk Legacy strategy changes) and the game keeps you on your toes! Difficult but not impossible and an excellent team game.

I'm reading through a few of the reviews... ripping up cards and permanent changes?

Does that mean we need to buy the game again after completing a campaign?

If you want to play through it again, then I suppose so. But a lot of the reason the game is fun is because you don't know what's going to happen next. You play through a full year in the campaign, 1 or 2 games per month, so you will get a lot of play out of it before you're finished.

Each month you open packages that may contain new rules, pieces, characters, etc. and add them to the game. I'm still only about halfway through the campaign with my group, but we are really enjoying it.

This is an excellent game - regular Pandemic get the "Legacy" treatment (like Risk Legacy).

However, this is not a great price. While it's true that Amazon had this listed at $70 at one time, CoolStuff ( http://www.coolstuffinc.com ) has always had it cheaper.

Currently, it is available at http://www.coolstuffinc.com/p/204927 (Red) or http://www.coolstuffinc.com/p/212613 (Blue) for $45.99 (cheaper if you are a frequent buyer from CSI). Shipping is free for orders over $100 (or free pickup in Orlando).

But shipping of a minimum of 10$ (under 100$ order) kills this for most people. I don't think most people are going to be dropping 100$ on this site. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think this still ends up being the better deal for far more people.

Not exactly a "steal" as this is always in stock at Amazon now for anywhere between $55-$60. Nevertheless AMAZING board game. Great cooperative. Only other coop I would recommend as highly as this would be legendary encounters

Yeah. I felt the same way about the Legacy games. The idea of a game that self-destructs seemed ridiculous when I heard about it. At a minimum you can play 12 times. (If you're on point and rock Pandemic) with an absolute max of 24 games. There are 12 months... each month gives you two tries to meet the objectives. The story progresses each month, winning gives you bonuses and unlocks and things. Characters develop, or can die. And there is zero real replay value; once you know what's coming up it effects your gameplay early-year. You'll start cheating using the metagame knowledge.

Everybody threw down a share of the cash, so it worked out to less than $15 a player for what ended up being the most entertaining three plus months at our weekend game group in memory. I think we had like 17-18 sessions as some months really caught us off guard, or others that fell apart and we decided to focus on a quest objective or setting up the board to make future games easier instead of curing the diseases, etc.

We also hosted 6-7 people usually, but since the game is completely co-op anyway we just played it "collectively" where everyone was involved in the strategy to control the four active characters.

For less than the cost of all of us going to just one Hollywood capeshit in 3D movie at the theater we got dozens of hours of entertainment. Some of our board games have cost over a hundred, but we've also got over a hundred hours of play in them now... and that keeps going up. Modern games are expensive but if you're playing them regularly the cost-per-session for the entertainment you get out of it far exceeds most mindless forms of media you're expected to pay for. This isn't your Grandmother's copy of Monopoly.
