Looking for a desktop PC with SSD

keyjey 12 10 August 18, 2016 at 01:06 PM
Hi everyone, I'm looking for a desktop PC with SSD hard drive. SSD doesn't have to be big as I just need the OS in there. I'll most likely install another HDD.

The desktop will be used mostly for MS office, youtube, and occasional gaming/photoshop. I can add a graphics card in the future but the desktop needs to have a quality power supply.

Budget is $500

Thanks everyone Big Grin

Have you ever tried pcparts picker dot com? Seems to be the best way to configure a system and get the best price most of the time. Rebates and coupons may get you a little better deal.

Under $500 bucks you can build something easily.

i5-6600 from Jet.com for <$200 with code 'triple15'

Should be able to find a motherboard, ram, and power supply for <$200 there as well. Place te orders separately to maximize your coupons. A 240gb Kingston SSDnow and a case should only cost you about $50 each, as well.

Here's a build I specced out for my brother in law a little bit ago. All the parts were from Jet, except for the case, which was from Amazon for $20. Not bad if you're not set on getting a 6th gen processor.

EDIT: Looks like a lot of the items are no longer available from Jet. You could still net the same processor and motherboard for dirt cheap.

Would be about $315 without the RAM or case. You should have no problem finding a deal on a case for $40 or so. RAM regularly drops to around $40 or so...I'm sure you could find some, or I could find some for you, with a quick look around the internet. The total would be $400 or so.
