This is an international version, so it has ZERO USA warranty.

Also, the 880 is not a SD. Get an 805, 860, or 870 and save $150 for the same performance, minus the lighthouses almost no one uses.

Right, no remote, but we've had numerous Roombas, some of which had remotes, and we never, ever used it. It's useless to most people, like the lighthouses.

bought one and it's ripping out little bits of my carpets that is a month old. anyone else have this problem?

Not sure if this is a Roomba problem. Most new carpets I've had "shed" for the first month or so, as all the loose fibers get sucked up. I burnt out the motor on a brand new Hoover upright trying to vacuum new carpet I had installed in my basement.
