I got this last time when it was $400 on Newegg through eBay, but it was a painful process. I received 3 different defective laptops and had to deal with their refurb department to finally get a working one.

First one - Defective Ram - Soldered on, not replaceable
Second one - Defective SSD - Could have replaced, but shouldnt have been my cost
Third one - Defective motherboard - strange system errors in windows and random freezes, however Memtest confirmed RAM was fine

Fourth one- Finally solid, they overnighted me a replacement because of all the headache. However, it took me about 2 months from puchase date to have a working unit. Pretty bad.

A laptop deal at newegg? Is this the sign of the end times?

EDIT: ohhhhhh, refurbished. Now it makes sense. Yep, they still haven't accomplished that great feat.

For a 2-in-1 similar to this, do you expect better or at least equally as good deals around Black Friday?

I picked one of these up for $400 last month from acer recertified as scratch and dent and love this machine! I spent a lot of time shopping for the following features around $300-$400 range and this and the Lenovo flex 3 were the finalists.

Pros: Good processor, enough ram, fast Ssd, virtually silent and cool when running, backlit keyboard, 1080p screen, flip function is more useful than I expected and tablet mode works pretty well! 14" screen is large enough but not too bulky to fit my bag. Not that heavy at 4lbs though there are lighter options out there (for more $$$ though)

Cons: Screen brightness seems limited, no rj45/Ethernet Jack, slightly laggy touchscreen at times

Highly recommend this machine for anyone in the market for a laptop deal on an "ultra book" style laptop.

I get 6-8 hours on a light load, 4 hours + heavy load.
