High-precision 5-in-1 wireless weather sensor accurately measures the temperature, humidity, wind speed, wind direction and rain

The AcuRite 01057RM Pro Color Weather Station is also on sale for $149.99

I called AcuRite and the only difference is it is a single sensor unit.

The posted Acurite has two temperature/humidity sensors not included in the 01057RM

Unless you're a farmer, why would you want this?

I had this unit for about 30 days before sending it back to Amazon. The rain gauge was useless since it often added up to 1/2 inch of rain that didn't exist. And the data it sent to my PC never agreed with what the display showed so I never knew which was correct. No more Acurite's for me.

I did like the remote temp and humidity sensors though, put one in my boat to monitor the humidity levels.

So how does this compare to the one sold at Costco for $140?
http://www.costco.com/AcuRite-Pro...91909.html

It looks like this just has a different display unit and an extra sensor or two.

I'm thinking I'd be better off waiting for the Costco one to go on sale due to their return policy.... and it will be cheaper..... and I already have some of the sensors that will probably work with this from other AcuRite devices. Any major difference other than those things?

I wish they would offer better UV protection with the main unit. I've had this model for 2 years and plastic is yellow and brittle. Given the purpose of the unit is to report weather, one could assume exposure to the elements and UV. But, technically the unit continues to function.

You may want to check Kohls.com if you are looking for one of these weather stations. I don't see that they have this exact model but they have several others. If you wait for one of their frequent 30% off deals for cardholders plus add Kohl's cash, you can really net a great deal on one of these. I did this a few months ago and purchased the 01036 model and I've been pretty happy with it so far. Like my Fitbit, I don't expect it to be 100% accurate. It's just cool and interesting to see how much rain we got or how fast the wind is.

Be sure to check ypur zipcode on the weather underground website before buying. My neighbor has his weatherstation synched to weather underground so I can read all the data from his station for free in real time...

My aforementioned friend moved his sensors around to get the most accurate results. Relying on others means you risk greater inaccuracy. Regardless - it is a cool weather toy you can use in the house, like he does, to teach family about weather and understand about watering needs and nature cycles and so forth.
