Can this handle Full HD MKV rips from a Blu-Ray?

Also, can it handle Totalmedia Player and full Blu-Ray ISO files?

would this be a good computer for my 9 y.o. son to watch YouTube and play farming simulator?

Being newly purchased, can these be upgraded to Windows 10 for free?

2.42 quad core, 4GB ram should be sufficient to play 4k. i think.

Pair this with the $139 27" HP IPS Monitor from Best Buy and you should have a decent media player setup.

I bought this a while ago- upgraded the RAM to 8 GB. Still sluggish, I hardly ever use it now. May throw in an SSD and see if that helps. It will do the job, just temper your expectations- it's a $109 computer...

So this is stuck at Windows 8, right? No more free upgrade to Windows 10, correct?

Literally any computer made in this decade would work for that.

Correct. The free upgrades stopped at the end of last month.

yes to youtube, but if he's 9 maybe a cheap $60 tablet would be better. hell best buy has the lg style 2 for $70. he would get more use out of that. just use wifi

Celerons are so mediocre. I bought something similar with a SSD using Win 7 and its still slow. Stupid thing is brought to its knees when the Windows Media Center guide updates. It literally cannot chew gum and walk at the same time.

You should still be able to get it through microsoft. You will need to check a box that says you need assistance before it will let you download. Goigle it. It's good for 3 months after the last deadline

Picked this up from Walmart at $49 and paired it with the $45 aoc 27" monitor. Upgraded it to 8gb ram which is max it'll take. Killed some tasks and it runs fairly solid , for web browsing and some videos it'll be fine. Not much else to do it , would i upgrade the Hdd to ssd no, just not worth it.
