Thank you! Ordered two $9.99 with $1.00 credit to make it even a better deal.
I needed something better than candles and/or flash lights in case there is a power outage.

I would think they it would be better to get rechargeable lanterns like that would make more sense. Why throw away batteries? IMHO but this is still a decent deal.

The reviews on these are super weird. The exactly product is sold under a number of different names, and most of them have the "I received this product in exchange for my honest opinion" reviews.

I think these are one of those products where a Chinese company created something ultra cheap to fill a niche, and then flooded the market by propping up tons of different little brands that all sell the same thing, supporting each with spammy reviews.

I can't really prove it, but if you read enough of the reviews it starts to feel like you're in the twilight zone. They all have really familiar formulas, like "I was really worried about getting this but all my fears disappeared", "I thought it would be bad for X but it turns out great", "I thought it would be too dim but it's brighter than [competitor]".

My wife got me a set of these for Christmas last year and they are well made and bright. I do wish they were rechargeable but I haven't had to change batteries yet so that's good. Have only used them a few times. I wouldn't leave these out in the rain, by the way. They are sturdy but don't give off the indestructible vibe.

check this one out it has a crank ThorFire LED Camping Lantern Hand Crank USB Rechargeable [amazon.com]
Years back I had something similar bought from Costco. It was Duracell branded and had radio, flash light, lantern and cell phone USB charger - all powered by hand crank. What a waste. It was impossible to keep the battery charged up using the crank. Never able to actually or rather effectively utilize it.

These things are awesome and very bright! I've used them a couple of times to light up the room during a storm outage and taken them camping a few times and the batteries are still going. You'll find them under many brands but I'm pretty sure they're all made by one or two companies in China. They're bright and the collapsible feature is great. Can't go wrong at this price.
