For those looking, this is for Alienware laptops only, per the description

"The graphics amplifier allows you to enjoy the performance of the desktop graphics card on your Alienware 13, 15, and 17 R2 notebooks LCD or on any external display connected to the amplifier.
Plug in with a single proprietary cable, included in box, exclusively made for Alienware R2 laptops."

also...

"support for a full-length, double-wide, desktop graphics card that do not exceed 10.5'' in length."

yes it's exclusively for alienware laptops and the port it uses to connect is proprietary as well. but its amazing and helps me max out most games without having to build a desktop.

Yep the proprietary port they created is better and faster than thunderbolt so I'm glad they did it. Running a 1080 in mine and it's great.

Also note that Alienware are expected to refresh their laptops next week at Pax West, with Pascal GPUs

When that happens, no one will need a graphics amplifier since the Pascal GPU's will be the same as the desktop versions! bounce

Yeah, within 5-7% of em anyway. I am watching the AW / Razer Pascal roll out closely, if they don't knock my socks off I've already got my eye on the Asus 1070 for $1699.
