Just noticed a Target Cartwheel deal for 70% off on certain Lego Dimensions Lord of the Rings Fun Packs. Expires Saturday August 27:

Gimli [target.com] (DPCI #207-03-2007) ... $3.06 after Cartwheel

Gollum [target.com] (DPCI #207-03-2008) ... $3.78 after Cartwheel

Legolas [target.com] (DPCI #207-03-2009) ... $3.60 after Cartwheel

Doing a little hunting around, best price I could find on any of these elsewhere was around $6. Use Target RedCard for another 5% off (in most states, effectively negating sales tax).
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

That's weird that Gollum is $12.59 in store. Seems like a strange price. The website makes sense because Amazon has weird prices the way they constantly change prices and Target.com will match them a lot.

With that said, $12.59 is not above MSRP. These things started out at $14.99 and still are at some places. But, after a while (back in the spring after lots of sales at $7.50), some stores set the standard price at $11.99. I was actually surprised to see that the year 2 fun packs are still being priced at $11.99, as I figured they would start out at the original $14.99 price.

I checked my cartwheel just now (before looking on this site) and saw these Lego offers, and I knew there would be a thread. I'm actually surprised there aren't more replies, but it should go FP soon. The prior deals which weren't as good did, so why not this one?

I hate the way stores play their games. First we have Target and their $6.47 price on most fun packs, so I got some of those. Then a few days later Best Buy has them for $4.79, so I ordered those. Now Target has a selection of the same ones for around $3.60, so I'll end up returning some of the Best Buy ones once they arrive. They always start high and go low, and then ask why I return a bunch of things. My answer is because you or someone else keeps dropping prices right after I buy before I even have a chance to open them.

I guess my best bet as I'm within 7 days is to get a price adjustment. Even the customer service reps probably can't invent an excuse that I can't rebuy them. So drag them all back to Target, have them scan which ones qualify for the cartwheel, return and rebuy those? Fortunately I'm already going to Target so no special trip needed.

Can someone please list which fun packs qualify in the "Movie" category besides Ghostbusters, The Lego Movie and Back to the Future which are obvious?

For instance, is Doctor Who a movie? I don't know never having seen anything by that name. I assume Simpsons is not a movie even though they made a Simpsons movie? I don't know what Ninjago is, but I don't remember seeing anything by that name in movie theaters.

it's the lego movie figures. Not movie figures

You mean only figures from The Lego Movie? That's not how I read the cartwheel which said "LEGO Dimensions Movie Fun Packs". To me that's any fun pack that is part of any movie and not a TV show. It doesn't specifically say The Lego Movie that I can see. I would expect it to say "LEGO Dimensions Lego Movie Fun Packs" if it were The Lego Movie only.

It would be immensely helpful if anyone has already gone to Target could confirm which movie franchise fun packs qualify (besides Lego Movie, LOTR, and Chima which I don't think is a movie). I'm not going for a few hours, so hopefully someone can help. It would be nice not to have to drag a lot of fun packs back for a return/rebuy if only some are going to qualify.

EDIT: Gave up waiting. As the expression goes, sometimes if you want something done, you've got to do it yourself. I called and found a nice employee who was able to read me the DCPIs for the 3 cartwheel offers. This is a far less impressive sale than I thought as it is not all movie packs.

Basically:
Movie: Unikitty, Bad Cop, Benny, Wonder Woman
Chima: Laval, Eris, Cragger
LOTR: Gimli, Gollum, Legolas

Yes, don't ask me why Wonder Woman is in there, but that's what the guy said. It was 207-03-2006 which doesn't show up online.
If anyone discovers any other fun packs included besides what I listed above, please post. To me it looks like it's only 10 fun packs.

you are correct with your list on all but one: 207-03-2006 is the lego movie emmet excavator.
If you read the offer detail for the lego movie cartwheel discount, you will read:

"LEGO Movie Fun Packs only; Includes DPCI:207-03-2003,207-03-2004,207-03-2005,207-03-2006.

2003 - unikitty
2004 - bad cop
2005 - benny
2006 - emmet

why they have wonder woman assigned to that DPCI is puzzling, as I verified its emmet by using this link http://brickseek.com/target-inven...07-03-2006

Thanks. Emmet makes more sense obviously than Wonder Woman. Is that DCPI info viewable in the cartwheel offer itself if I click on it? I never do anything but add it with the + sign, but somehow you found it without calling I assume. I wonder why the employee said Wonder Woman scanned as valid, but I guess I'll take both Emmet and Wonder Woman to see what happens.

Wonder Woman won't work as the dpci isn't listed on the cartwheel app.

Thanks for checking. I'm going to Target soon. The only reason I said Wonder Woman is the guy at my store claimed he scanned it and it came up as having the promo with the same DCPI as Emmet, but apparently he was wrong if you tried it.
