No, PS4 doesn't support external hard drives. Taking out the drive inside won't work either as this contains a 3.5" desktop drive. PS4 uses a 2.5" laptop drive.

I bought the expansion several months ago to plug into my router for use as my media server. It works well enough that I bought a second one to back the other up.

I couldn't see it on the Bestbuy website, anyone know the RPM of the 5TB Backup plus expansion?

wouldn't mind knowing this as well, as some of them have firmware built into their usb chassis etc, so you can't.....

same drive longer wty w/the Backup Plus - void either way once you pull it
