My parents are in NY and I'm trying to find a cruise for them to go on near Christmas time. All their friends and relatives have all been to one and rave about it, so I thought It would be a nice gift. I found a few good ones on groupon, but would they all start out in Florida.

Looking for a one weak minimum cruise for 2, maybe 3 people. Price range, not sure yet, but est. 1000-4000

Looking to book one going out of states.

Any particular destination? From a quick look, it only seems RCCL and NCL will be sailing from NY that time of year. Do they drink? Will they want to do a lot of excursions? How is their English?

Look on vacationstogo.com and choose your departure port. You can also look at Bayonne, NJ.

I took a look at some of the sites a few members at SD mentioned and from the looks of it, there aren't that many good places to visit that departs at NYC, so I may have to change where to depart. My parents know very little English, but my sister will be going with them. I'll ask my sister what she wants to do, best option would be to book a plane and depart there instead of NYC, maybe spend a week sightseeing before setting sail.

Willing to visit any beautiful places out of states as long as it's safe.

No drinking, just looking to visit new places and sight see.

Cruises out of FL tend to be more available, cheaper, and you get to the islands faster. From NY or NJ, on a one week cruise, you get to Bermuda, but from FL, you can visit 5 islands. Also, things to do in FL, as well. Flights in $200 round trip range if you plan well in advance. From Ft Lauderdale or Miami, should be easy to get to cruiseport from airport -- maybe even book it through cruiseline.
