They do sales every week but not like this, whenever they're selling basically at spot the price plummets shortly there after as though they had inside info. Plus their normal sales are usually on Fridays, not Mondays.

Not true! Hope no one purchased this off OP's incorrect assumption.

This product is 1 oz Gold for $1,344.

Spot price of gold is $1,324.00 for 1 TROY oz. 1 Troy oz = 1.09714 oz. So you're paying roughly 10% Over spot. Be careful guys.

Wrong, these are clearly 1 troy oz, confirmed on the back that the 1oz = 31.1 grams which IS a troy ounce. n00b

The piece of paper inside the plastic casing does read "31.1 grams" which IS a troy ounce, but no where in the title or body of the text of the product description does it say "troy" or "31.1 grams". If you feel lucky, go for it, but I wouldn't trust it based on the text on a piece of paper (not on the coin).

Good luck to all. If anyone has purchased I'd like to hear what it turns out to be. Quote/pm me if anyone is daring enough to try it.

n00b. Have you ever bought gold? Gold is always sold in Troy ounces, so 1 ounce = 31.10 g. Find me a gold bar that is sold in 1oz = 28.35g

When a coin or bar says "1oz" and it's a precious metal, it's a troy ounce.

APMEX isn't trying to screw you. They are one of the most recognized and reputable sellers of precious metals out there. Quit being such a n00b and giving bad information.

I've purchased silver coins from a coin shop near me and always pay near spot price for silver rounds that say "troy oz" on them and everything is cool. There was one time when I purchased 15-20 of them I didn't inspect all of them and when I got home I realized one didn't say "troy" and I weighed it and it was in fact Not troy, it was a regular oz.

I'm not giving bad information. I'm giving intelligent information for people to be cautious about this listing. If the listing had "troy" in the title/body of the posting or stamped on the coin, I'd be all over this deal. Sorry you don't understand. Bless your little heart.

NO GOLD COINS SAY TROY OUNCE!! You are a TOTAL n00b in this business and you ARE absolutely giving bad information.

The most famous gold coin, the American Eagle says "1oz fine gold." It never clarifies "troy" ounce but it's understood by anyone who deals in this market because they aren't total n00bs.

If you find anyone selling gold using the avoirdupois system, it is probably not reputable. APMEX IS reputable and uses Troy Ounces like any other reputable gold dealer.
