It appears ebay has taken away the ability for users to redeem ebay GC for GCs sold by third party resellers (including SVM, PPDG etc)

Their Terms and conditions were last updated 8/22

http://pages.ebay.com/giftcard/te...tions.html
http://pages.ebay.com/giftcard/faqs.html

Attached is a copy of their FAQ from 8/13 per google's cache.
The first paragraph now appears on the FAQ page.

Are there restrictions on the use of eBay gift cards?
There are limits on redeeming gift cards, including time and spending threshold limits. Additionally, eBay gift cards may not be used to buy eBay gift cards, third party gift cards, gift certificates, coupons, coins, paper money, virtual currency, or items generally considered to be "bullion" (for example, gold, silver, and other precious metals in the form of coins, bars, or ingots).
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Gift Cards: Terms and Conditions
(Highlighting who we'd sue and the applicable text)

The Gift Card is issued by eBay Gift Card Services, Inc., an Arizona corporation, which reserves the right to change the terms of the eBay Gift Card program or amend these Terms and Conditions at any time or to contract with a third party to administer this program. Any amendment to the Terms and Conditions will be effective when posted on www.ebay.com.

We may assign these Terms and Conditions at any time without notice to you. However, if we assign the Terms and Conditions, the Terms and Conditions will remain substantially the same unless you are notified.

Addition of new restriction verbiage in Frequently asked questions about eBay gift cards
section around 8/22/16

This sucks...Just tried to purchase a Kmart and BB GC and I got an error inputting the ebay GC. Error states:
"This code can't be applied to some of your items."

I guess you lucked out. They just rolled out the changes today. Try again and it probably won't work.

This has been a long time coming. Killing off eBay GC rolling was the first sign this was on the way.

Be sure to inundate eBay and PayPal with complaints and requests for cash in exchange for unused gift cards. There are legal issues with this in multiple states, I do believe. Check your state to be certain.

You're kidding right? This is what it said at the end of the terms and conditions. Not being able to use the GC seems substantially different to me. At least notify us ahead of time. Definitely not legal.
