Nice find for this. I have been watching these for awhile as my next laptop/upgrade. Most other places are selling them for about $200 more. I am going to wait a little longer in case the new nvidia models cause the price to drop on these. I don't think Cyberpower was selling this laptop for anywhere near $950, but I would l love to see a link to that.

This laptop series is often suggested as the best value for a gaming laptop.

You've been here since 2003...so learn to search and you wouldn't need people to spoon feed you.

As for the comparison, yes...value for the specs vs. price.....the Cyberpower deal was better.

sorry to well respected OP but with 1060/1070/1080 mobile GPU's being out(or at least few notebooks were already announced) and lower priced 1060 being a huge upgrade to even 980m GPU for supposedly either the same or close to in $ this really doesn't seem as a deal let alone a SD worthy deal. 980m(pretty big upgrade when compared to 970m) can be found for around $1000 nowadays, unless this is supposed to be real desktop 970(non M) GPU laptop edition(since it is 6GB) but even then laptops with 980(non-M) can be found for around the same price as OP's deal. There must be a reason why a such well respected OP would think of this as a SD deal so perhaps some1 can enlighten?

Ah I misread, I thought he meant this model was on sale for that much. That cyberpower frontpage deal was nice indeed, and is better than this in price. The size of the ROG is why I am interested in it, because I can get 64GB of RAM into the 4 slots, and it has lots of places to add HDs.

at the end of 2016 and they still charge you $1k6 for a 1080p screen with GTX 970M? Even my grandma won't buy this crap.

$1500
same specs exept 16gb ram no g-sync and it has a gtx 1060.

you can customize the ram to the same as this deal as well as upgrade the monitor to g-sync. adding those two options brings this Sager laptop to the same price (well, it brings it up to $1604).

Also you could chose even more ram if you wanted to, all the way to 64gb.

little edit about the laptop I linked, I decided to look up the m.2 ssd in it. That drive (sandisk x400 256gb) runs in sata mode, so if this pc in the original post has a m.2 that does actually use pcie3x4 then that will be faster. other than that I believe the laptop I linked is a better buy at this price.
