This is a nice hot Chromebook available for only $129.99 at Target. Got one back when it was $179.

it's cheap... but a Chromebook with only 2gb RAM is not recommended, unless the user really only
uses it to read emails and do light internet browsing.... more than a few tabs open and this thing
will become very sluggish.

Not sure what kind of light browsing everyone else does, but for me I can have around 10ish tabs open of just reading material. When using youtube/watching videos it tends to slow down noticeably after 4-5 tabs. If you already know what you're getting yourself into with the ChromeOS and don't need dedicated programs, this is a good option.

Agreed. This is a decent deal.

If you only have one or two tabs open it runs great. However, not a great laptop for swagbucks or viggle. Next Chromebook I get will have 4Gb of RAM.

I really like these low end Chromebooks for simple tasks. They are pretty quick with good battery life. If you're gonna use it as a primary laptop it's definitely worth spending some more coin on a faster processor. Chromebooks with octane scores over 1000 are pretty quick even with just 2gb of ram. I have an old Acer C710 2834 that scores 1150 and I didn't notice much of a speed difference when I upgraded the ram from 2 to 4. My 2gb Samsung Chromer scores around 750 and is noticeably slower then the Acer.

I bought the Acer 14 inch for $240, quite a bit more, but the bigger screen size, extra ram, higher res display is worth it to me.

Chromebooks don't need a powerful CPU, and the Baytrail Dual-Core is more than enough.

The Celeron processors that start with an N, particulary the N2830 and N2840 models, are very slow. Try to get one with a 2955u or the 3205u if possible. Also, 4GB of RAM is much better (though a 2955u with 2GB isn't that bad).

Agree, my 5 year old Acer is way faster then most of the Chromebooks sold today because of it's 1007u processor.

This is perfect for middle school and high school students who are in "bring your own technology " schools. Easy access to Google docs and Google classroom which are the mainstay of most public schools.
