I have the yoga 2 but the casing has cracked so I need a replacement. Should I get this or the lenovo Thinkpad for $100 more? Don't really need the better graphics card on the thinkpad but 128gb ssd is a bit small.

Anyone with a 2-1: do you actually use the flip capabilities often? My casing broke early on so I couldn't really use it and don't know if I need it. Mostly using the laptop for matlab, little coding, and solidworks along with some movies, etc.

I rarely use anything other than laptop mode. I'll occasionally use the tent mode to watch a movie, but that's it. Too hefty to be handy as a tablet. It's nice to have the option, but I wouldn't miss it. (HP Spectre x360 in my case.)

a10 vs i5 the i5 should kick
I wasn't comparing it to the OP, although the larger ssd and matte screen are something to note. I was only suggesting it since he's in the market. And it doesn't require an EDU discount to keep it in this price range, especially since there's no tax.

What's the difference between this and the Spectre version?
Can you upgrade the HD in this with a regular 3rd party one? The video on the site makes it look like you need a tray but it looks like it's made of aluminum foil for some reason.

EDIT:
Nevermind. I found this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yuzBrmKPGts that says that this M3 version has the RAM soldered on and uses an M2 SSD.
