Description:
The new Mi Earphones adopts the coolest hybrid technology which is the combination of one dynamic driver and two-way balanced-armature (BA) drivers, and their relative position to each other in the housing, allowed us to develop the smallest three-way in-earphones that offer a true reference-quality sound. The balanced-armature will be handling on high frequency audio while dynamic driver will handle the low frequency audio thus providing a more 3D surround effect.

Highlights:
Original Xiaomi in-ear hybrid dual driver earphones
Dynamic and two balanced-armature drivers, for detailed sound
More professional tuning mode with super fine and sophisticated design
Cable control high SNR 58dB microphone, better noise cancellation for clear calling quality
Come with 3 pairs of S / M / L size soft silicone eartips for comfortable wearing experience

Note:
Volume control function can not be used on the iOS devices.
There are 2 different packaging and we will send it by random.

Some folks are not comfortable with Gearbest, but I've bought quite a number of items from them and so far I've not had any issues.
Enjoy the deal.

I would hold off on buying these from Gearbest. I bought this set of earbuds from them and they provided a shipping number which was not updated for the whole duration of the shipment. I contacted them a month after my order about not receiving it. They turn up with tracking updates as simply "Delivered" after I contacted them and so far I have been met with a rep from their site saying that it was shipped and that I have to check with all of my neighbors, my family, and my post office for my $16 xiao mi earbuds and that they would do nothing else because it is out of their hands now.

I didn't receive assistance until I posted to this site when a gearbest rep here contacted me to contact another representative in their org. I have not heard back yet from his coworker. I hesitate to recommend this place, especially since I am getting screwed out of this exact same item mentioned in this thread!

EDIT: I am currently going through a paypal dispute. Honestly not worth it to have to type up a dispute for some earbuds but I figured it's best to warn others like me who thought it wouldn't happen to me.

GearBest might be fine when everything goes smoothly, but they are the absolute worst if you need customer service. I ordered Pistons a while ago and never received them. Pretty sure that GB's shipping department stole the package, because their "proof of shipping" photo was carefully cropped to hide the fact that they never put any postage on the package.

After two months, I traded about 20 messages with GB customer service, and every time they had a different excuse, telling me to wait another 2 months, promising coupons or refunds that they never delivered, etc. I had to force a refund by PayPal dispute because it was obvious GB had no intention of ever fixing the problem.

Got the piston three for under 15 bucks from deals in the past and they are absolutely amazing for the price. Usually I take the hype on SD's with a grain of salt but will pick up these pistons as backup.

I really enjoy my piston 3s. Someone who has the 3 and 4, can you tell me if it's worth buying the 4 if you already have the 3?

I'd like to know the same. I have the Piston 3s as well and really like them. As if I need more earbuds though lol... also, it doesn't seem like these come with a carrying case or spare tips?

QUICK COMPARISON:

They're pretty close-- I generally just grab either pair when I head out, as they both sound really good...

For comparison- I just did a side by side, playing my fav FLACs, and I do slightly prefer the new Piston 4s. They're slightly crisper/clearer somehow, though it may be psychological as I know they're newer... However, the metal casing definitely looks nicer on the Piston 4s, whereas the black finish on the Piston 3s is scratching off...

FYI- in case anyone's thinking of saving a few bucks by getting the Piston 3 "youth" model (which are supposed to have the same internals as the regular Piston 3), I found they didn't sound quite as good...

What's so special about the xiaomi pistons? Is it all the hype over those cheap monoprice ones a while back that people say now aren't so great?

They sound pretty decent. Stellar build quality for the price and for Android users this is a killer price point for that and a fully functioning 3 button remote. I think they're really comfy with their angled nozzles and some extra Sony tips I had laying around.

I have the cheap monoprice ones as well, and they sound good vs other cheap earphones (like the ones that come with your phone/ipod) but are nowhere near as good as these (I also hate how the cord tangles really bad on the monoprice ones)...

The Piston 3 and 4 are above their price-peers in sound (and look). I find them to be more similar to my Sennheiser CX880, which cost way more (and sound only a bit better).

What I really like is that I can just throw the Pistons around as they're cheap, and sound good, and I don't need to worry about ruining/losing them... (I'd be pissed to lose my sennheisers though!)
