Thanks, but this was already posted at the beginning of the week.

I thought this might be an updated thread about them including all packs. I wish they did, as I really want to get the Ghostbusters packs.

You mean Slimer and Stay Puft fun packs and the Ghostbusters level pack? I figured you'd already have them since I believe you started Lego Dimensions (or Dementia as I call it) long before I did. Both you and SlickDealio are the 2 people I remember who know at least as much as I do about Infinity, Skylanders and Dementia, IIRC.

So you know that both fun packs were $4.79 at Best Buy.com a week ago, and I don't remember if the level pack was available or OOS for $14.99. Since you keep up with all these things, I'm surprised you don't already have them.

As I posted in at least one of the many Dementia threads, thanks to the Best Buy and Target sales of the last couple weeks, I now own all Dementia packs for prices I can accept ($1.79, $3.xx, $4.79 for fun packs, $10-$12 for team packs, and $15 for level packs). I'm only missing the 3 exclusive fun packs, AFAIK. Sure, it was probably a few hundred dollars, but I got everything for 50-80% off normal price. Besides, what's a few hundred when the financial system is about to collapse anyway? If it wasn't bad enough already and teetering on the brink, I just heard the fed is planning QE3 (or is it QE4) with another 2-4 trillion of funny money to further devalue the US currency and speed up our collapse even further. 100 MPH towards the ground isn't fast enough... speed it up to 150 MPH. I just don't know what altitude we are at right now before it happens. We might as well enjoy those fun packs before all our savings and digital currency evaporate and banks do a bail-in on 100% of depositors' savings and we go to a barter economy. I doubt anyone will want to barter food for my Lego figures, though, especially when there is no power to run your consoles because there's no money left to run the power grid. Somehow I doubt the power company employees will work for free. It's depressing to consider it.

A few things on SD are really easy to search on... among them are Skylanders, Infinity, Dimensions, and Humble (bundles). Usually those single words will get you all the related threads, so it's usually pretty easy to find.

We've mostly only bought for things like Christmas and birthday. And only when we get them for a really good deal. My son's birthday was near the beginning of May, so the Slimer pack hadn't come out, yet. Stay Puft hadn't been out long, and there weren't really too many good deals before his birthday. Since then, we've just kind of put off buying any new ones (except, I think we got a deal on the Midway level pack that he may have bought with his birthday money, I don't remember). We actually needed one more ability, but ended up getting it when we received the Green Arrow minifigure in the mail (courtesy of the Lego Dimensions facebook page). I think Slimer is still needed since there's a spot where you have to combine abilities (though I don't remember where). But we just haven't gotten in a hurry to buy them. My son's currently trying to save up for the new Skylanders game, so he's not buying much. If I could have gotten it for around $4, he might have decided to bite on it (or we might have just picked it up for the fun of it). I thought about it at $6, but we're starting to get tight on money, and he has been adamant about not spending his own money (although he ended up getting something for $10 he saw on clearance, randomly). I don't have GCU at BB, so I couldn't get the $4.79 price. As for this deal, there aren't really any of the packs we really want to get. We already have the Chima packs. The only Lego Movie pack we don't have is Bad Cop (which our interest has really waned for, and he doesn't have an abilities we need). We don't have any of the Lord of the Rings packs. The only one we were interested in was Legolas (since he has the pole vault ability), but we ended up getting all this abilities with Green Arrow. According to brickseek, the Target on the other end of town has 1 Gollum for $6.28, making it $1.89. That might be tempting to get, if I happen to be over there and they actually have it. Any of those we are missing, at this point (at least in these categories), I would only pick up if I got them for a couple of bucks. But if they were the Ghostbusters ones, I'd have to bite at less than $4.

Thanks for that detailed explanation. I thought you were a collector like I am rather than picking up stuff here and there as you and your son's budget permits. You sure know more about Lego Dementia than I do. Big Grin I've barely started, but at least I feel OK about the prices I got recently.

Ninjago Jay, Green Arrow and Supergirl are the only 3 I know of I don't have. I know Jay is $12 at Toys R Us if I ever go there. Have you seen him on sale by himself at TRU for less? That is, if I wait until the holidays, it is likely Jay will be $6 at TRU B&M or does TRU only do BOGO deals which wouldn't work if I just need 1? Did you get Green Arrow for free off Lego's site or did it cost money? I'm sure it's no longer available there. As nice as it would be to get Green Arrow and Supergirl, I don't see myself ever paying more than $15 for any Lego Dimensions fun pack (especially when my average price is now about $4) no matter how rare it is. The people charging $80 on eBay can keep theirs or sell it to the hardcore collectors. I'm a collector but not hardcore.

TRU doesn't usually have too many good sales. Most are a BOGO deal. And now that I live on the other end of town from our TRU, I don't get in there as often as I used to, so I could have missed some deals. I was in there, the other day, and they had a deal to get Jay or Laval free with a purchase (although, I think it was like $30 or something). But your only other option to get Jay is from the online Lego shop.

As for Green Arrow, I got it from the Lego Dimensions facebook page. They randomly pick people on their fan page and send them Green Arrow. I'm not sure if they randomly just pick people that "like" the page or people who interact. I comment a lot on their page, so I can't say one way or the other. They also keep posting that there will be other opportunities to get him (although they said not in retail). They aren't saying anything about Supergirl, yet, other than the PS4 starter pack that includes her. If you read the fine print on the Supergirl, though, it says the exclusivity ends at the end of March. All they're saying is that she will be made available as a hire-a-hero. So it seems the only way to get her, for now, is in the PS4 starter pack, but everyone is holding out hope she'll be made available in other ways. One thing to know, though, is that both are in a polybag and not a typical fun pack. Though, now that I think about it, Supergirl was always pictured in a polybag, but the picture of the starter pack shows it just attached inside the box and not in a polybag. So the question is why it was pictured in a polybag? Where did that come from?

Thanks. I suppose next time I go to TRU (which is also far away for me) I may pick up Jay though paying $12 will be painful, or I may wait until the Christmas season to see if there are any deals first. A BOGO deal wouldn't help me without something else to buy, though they are releasing a few new things in a month or two (I have the list in my notes but don't remember the dates off hand). Though I preordered those sets at Tarjay for 40% off, perhaps Jay + one of those fun packs in a holiday BOGO would work out better?

I'd jump through a few hoops for Green Arrow if I knew I would be successful, but it sounds random, so I won't try yet. I won't buy another PS4 starter kit just to get Supergirl unless that PS4 starter pack gets dirt cheap (around $30).

I bet you know these answers...

Does Wonder Woman have her own world or do all the DC Comics figures share the same DC Comics world?

The back of the Simpsons level pack shows the car and TV being transformable into 2 other objects. During gameplay does it ask you to tear down/rebuild them or is that just showing you some bonus options that aren't part of the game? I realize that it doesn't know if you tear down/rebuild, so I would probably just ignore it if it asked me to do it.

I don't know about you, but I'm partly color blind, and I can't tell you how much trouble I have finding the right color circle pieces. The instructions don't reflect their true color. Only by looking at the package (which I usually throw away immediately) was I able to figure out Homer's car's headlights were supposed to be clear and I think the back red. The point is building the pieces is a chore because it takes so long to find the right colored small pieces, and I have no desire to take them apart ever.

I don't suppose you know of a site that has all of the in game Lego building instructions but in more accurate colors?

Wave 6 comes out Sep. 27. That includes Adventure Time Team and Level Pack, Mission Impossible level pack, Ghostbusters (2016) story pack, A-Team fun pack, and Harry Potter Team pack.

Wave 7 comes out Nov. 18. That includes Sonic the Hedgehog level pack, ET fun pack, Gremlins team pack, Fantastic Beasts story and fun packs. There's also going to be a TRU exclusive Adventure Time fun pack on Nov. 18.

I'm not sure what hoops you really need to go through. Just liking their facebook page. I've found a lot about Lego Dimensions just on that page alone, anyway. Great place to ask questions. Their social media people are quick to respond, though they may not b able to answer every question. But there are a lot of other people (like myself) who tend to check in and answer questions. Like I said, though, I'm not sure if they just pick random people from their facebook page or if they see who's interacting. As for Supergirl, they aren't saying other than it's a PS4 exclusive. If there's some plan after the exclusivity, they probably can't say due to contractual reasons with Sony.

Each franchise has their own adventure world. So you only need one from that world to unlock the adventure world. They all share the same one.

Rebuilds are completely optional. They don't show up in levels or anything. But you can spend studs on upgrading your vehicles/items. Some of the upgrades require a different "form" as it gives them new abilities. For instance, you can convert some vehicles to have the water ability (instead of using Aquaman or Krusty), and the Batmobile has an upgrade ability to unlock certain areas. But they are completely optional and not built into the story itself. As for having to rebuild them, you are correct. They have no way of knowing whether you did or not. But you can select the option, scroll through the instructions, then write it to the toy tag as a new vehicle/item. You don't have to re-build the Legos themselves. In fact, you don't even have to have the Legos on the toy tag. But it's easier to figure out what the toy tag is for. And what fun is it if you don't have the Legos on it, anyway? Smilie I have only gotten around to upgrading one of my vehicles, as I needed the ability from the second version of the Batmobile. I didn't feel like rebuilding it and I liked the look of the Batmobile better, anyway, so I just wrote it to the toy tag without bothering to re-build the Legos.

I would have no idea about color issues. I normally don't have too much trouble unless the colors are similar (like a dark blue and black or variants of gray), but the colors have always seemed to match the pieces. Although, the instructions for Lego Dimensions are on the TV and not in the box. So maybe it's more to do with the color of your TV. You can search online for Lego Dimensions instructions. I know there are people who have posted them, even if it's just watching the videos of them playing. I don't know off hand, where they are, but I'm sure it's an easy search.

Thanks, as always, for the help. I have a lot to learn about Lego Dementia (sic). I've seen hire a hero options, but that seems like a waste of in game money, especially when I now have all the figures except the 3 exclusives we've been talking about. It would be better to upgrade the vehicles as I assume that's permanent (being written to the toy tag). I assume you can't go back to the old vehicle, but if the new vehicle doesn't lose any features then I guess there's no reason. I assume the upgrade options come after you complete certain levels or reach certain money amounts. As I have not been playing much myself (mainly watching and helping someone a lot younger who doesn't pick up most of the money in the game), I don't know all the details. I saw the city under the water in DC Comics, and learned that it's a drag if you accidentally hit the switch characters key and then your character underwater is suddenly on the surface again. Other characters don't seem able to dive. Lots to learn. Given the choice between playing Lego Dementia or going to work and doing chores/errands, guess which one I would choose? And yet I don't have any choice and I'll have to do the opposite of what I want which is the story of my life almost every day, except short lived blessed Saturdays. I call them the day of life. One day where I can sleep in and get more than 4 hours of sleep and actually spend a few hours playing games or watching a movie with only family nagging me every few minutes to get out of my man cave.

You have to collect studs and gold bricks to unlock/purchase the upgrades. You can write to the toy tag as many times as you like. If you switch to a particular re-build and save it to the toy tag, you can easily go back and select the other build and re-save it. So it isn't a permanent change.
