That modem/router combo deal for $119 is fantastic. If I didnt already own that same router, and a different modem, I'd be all over it.

Not sure where you saw that Linksys is a 24x4 modem. The spec says that it's 16x4: http://www.linksys.com/us/support...Num=205505. That said, an equivalent TP-LINK TC-7620 is available for $69.99 from a few retailers, including Target, which makes it eligible for 5% off for RED card holders.

Any deals floating around for the C9 and modem or is the C7 good enough for a general home demand with 3 floors?

How is the range on that router (and, if you happen to know, particularly how is the range as compared to the Nighthawk X6). I'm having range issues and want something that is going to solve that problem once and for all...

If anyone else has recommendations on a relatively recently released router with terrific range please let me know -- much appreciated!

I am in the market for a router and modem. Been paying Cox for over a year now!!
Can someone vouch for the combo at this price?
TP-LINK Archer C7 AC1750 Dual-Band Wireless Gigabit Router + TP-Link TC-7610 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem

I have like 6-8 devices usually on the network and mostly use it for netflix streaming.

Is this the same combo on Amazon for $15 more?

looks like the same combo. The only complaint i have is that the modem is a 8x4. which means u wont get anything over 100mbps with some providers... im not sure what Cox requires.

It was the same price for a 16x4 a few weeks ago... im not sure if it will come out again though... great for ppl who wont go over 100mbps. The 7610 modem supports more than 100Mbps. From newegg:

"Download speed up to 343 Mbps, upload speed up to 143 Mbps"

Also, I have this exact combo from when it was on sale about 2 months ago, and I get 180Mbps on Comcast (on a 150 account).

I actually had the Nighthawk R7000 and was having issues with it. I sold it, switched to this one, and get better range. Not sure if it's a fluke, or what. But I haven't had to restart this router at all. Big fan of it.
I have a 4-level split home, and it reaches all corners of my house

modem support yes, but not ISP supported... TWC(which i have) requires a 16x4 to be able to support 100+mbps... the modem advertised is only a 8x4.

for example, cox cable... it list TP-Link TC-7610 on their approve website... --> http://www.cox.com/residential/su...0000000%7D

it list highest package as Premier which gives up to 150mbps(my mistake, i used to be 100mbps) at limit.

I have had this router for 2 months now, no drops or resets. I only have a 1,500sq ft single level condo but the range is strong in all rooms. Sometimes I get slightly higher speeds than what my plan max is. I'm using a 16 x 4 modem.

Your problem probably won't be solved by a single router. If you can run a cable to the other end of the house then use another router as an access point.
