Got a link for $299 deal? Where does it say this one is a gray market?

I've seen this model on Ebay and Amazon for $350 brand new but does not come with any warranty
Per the Ebay sellers page this one comes with a 90 Day Nikon Warranty

Trying to determine if worth upgrading my 3100.
Loved 3100 so far. Learned a ton. Have bought lenses rec by sd'ers.
I have to say the original SD refurb i got with two lenses for upper 300 a couple years ago has been the most enjoyed SD i've had

Upgraded lenses

Nikon 35mm 1.8, 70-300 to upgrade one kit.
Just got sigma 17-55 which has been nice upgrade to the kit Lens
Wouldnt mind the wifi to transfer to device and inreased megapixels.
5300,5500,7100,7200 all would be fun. Moving theough the menu on 3100 gets a little tedious.

Most of the "upgrade" advice I've read says master what you have. Then determine your needs.
But, i would have full original kit to pass on to someone.....
Hmmmmm.....

I have had an Olympus DSLR camera for many many years. When I got the Olympus many brand name DSLR had issues with dust getting into the sensor (fix cost as ridiculously high) . Olympus at that time was the only one with solution for dust issue. Can any one update me as to Nikon and the d3300 dust solution.

If they have a solution, how effective is it?

Grey market typically means that the camera is an international version and was not intended for sale in the United States. This means that they may not have US warranties on them.

That being said, this deal is Beach Camera who is on the Authorized Nikon Dealers [nikon-cdn.com] list, and specifically state that they come with a 90 day Nikon warranty. So they're not grey market, just refurbs.

that's what I figured. Beach Camera is a reputable company, just below B&H Photo.

I'm curious as to why both SquareTrade and Asssurant(both selling warranties for eBay
items) cannot offer extended warranty on this particular auction. Frown

Square Trade [squaretrade.com] might.. They don't specifically say that they cover refurbished ones, but they do cover used (weird?) but they may not. You'd have to contact them. (You can request a callback from the bottom of this page [squaretrade.com] to ask.)

Not sure on Assurant - Here [ebay.com] is their page on Ebay's site, and when you check this camera's item number, no available warranties come up. This might be due to how Beach Camera listed the item more than anything else. According to the Terms, it looks like it should be eligible for coverage, but like with Squaretrade, you'd have to call (1-877-273-1738) to confirm.

I have purchased warranties from both companies before(directly, via Amazon, as well as via eBay). I called them and gave them the camera's item number and information. Both said they wouldn't be able to cover it... weird.

I suppose I can find out if Canon can sell me their own extended warranty, but I'm sure it'll cost a lont more. Frown

sorry i was mistaken. roughly around the 319 mark. the other ones did come with software and one even came with wifi adapter. and i apologize about the gray market, i went to beach cameras website and did not see the that official seal letting you know they are an authorized seller.

thanks for the reply. looks like the refurb d3300 is bouncing around the $300-$340 range lately, so it's definitely something to keep an eye on.

I should think the D3300's should be dropping with the advent of the D3400.
