Let's cut to the chase: we've got a promotion that we think you'll like.

Schedule at least 6 rent or mortgage payments with your MasterCard, by September 30, and lock in a 1.75% rate on those payments.

Seriously, no fine print. Just follow these four steps:

1. Schedule 6 or more payments, as far into the future as you'd like.
2. Make sure those payments are for rent or mortgage.
3. Use your MasterCard.
4. Do it before September 30, 2016, 11:59 p.m. PT.

If you need to finance your mortgage, seek financial help.

If someone has to borrow from their CC for anything (much less mortgage) they should probably reprioritize; but some people use these as a means of liquidating their gift cards

When used in conjunction with spending bonus for credit cards (such as 5x at office stores), it is a useful way to get a lot of points (which get redeemed for travel, etc)

Wish this was for Visa so I can use it to hit the spend requirement on the new Sapphire card.

How much will you save? A few extra dollars? I don't see you can save much by comparing this rate to other DIY swipes.

What do you mean? I need to hit the 4K in 3 months spending requirement to get the 100K reward points.

Hmm.

My rent is $3900/mo. If I use Citi Double Cash MC and get 2% cashback, after the 1.75% fee, I'll net .25% per payment.

That's about $10 per payment. Multiply by 6 and that's $60 in my pocket for basically doing nothing.

Sure, why not!

You are doing it wrong. You are supposed to have a card with at least 2% cashback.

I already have a 2% cashback card....this would have stacked on top of the 1.75% cashback....but this here is a fee that you pay to for rent.
