Urban Outfitters has this highly rated turntable available for $79.99. NOW REDUCED TO $69.99

It can be had for less than $80 shipped if you sign up for their Urban On program (free) for an extra 10% off.
My total was $78.38 shipped in NYC.

NOTE: There are some performance issues that affect a certain amount of AT LP60 Turntables.
Just contact AT and they are very good at getting it resolved.

I got the black one from Walmart last year on SD for $110. I love it. I got a bunch of older records from a family friend and regularly scour CL and SD for deals. It just sounds better imho.

Be careful there are three different versions of this turntable. LP60 the basic model, LP60-USB the basic plus a usb port for digital transfer, LP60-BT newer model with Bluetooth capability (for some reason...)

This is for the basic LP60

I heard this eats records though without a weighted tonearm.

One wouldn't buy this if they had a large record collection they cared about. If you're curious about vinyl and just starting out, it shouldn't be a big problem. There's no adjustability and that would freak me out nowadays. I started with a Sony player that was similar to this and immediately moved to a used Sansui from the 80s. Huge difference.
One should be able to find a nice player for under $80 on the CL. And remember, if you don't have a phono input on your receiver you'll need a preamp.

Thanks. I have a pair of Technics 1200's from my djing days, but I still like to mess around sometimes and they are in another room. I was thinking about a vintage turntable off Craigslist but then I started looking at the Audio Technica 120 for the living room, they seem kinda nice, though I've heard deleting the preamp and hooking up your own improves the sound or something. Waiting for a good deal on one. Last year they got down to around $190 on the holidays.

My order just shipped. Also just want to note that this color is exclusive to UO. So if you like the color, you won't be able to find this in other stores.

Mine arrived today. Haven't opened it yet, but I just found a review online (which was excellent) that informed me there are LP-60s that did not have "spindles adequately lubricated" and could stop playing after a few hours.

"The problem affects a small percentage... within the following serial numbers"
AT-LP60RBL C1540002501-C1540003800

My box clearly has a serial number that falls within this range. So maybe Urban Outfitters was dumping their lemons asap with this deal.

Here is the service announcement, direct from the a-t website.

Gives a # and email, I suppose I'll try in the morning to see if there is some kind of free replacement or warranty coverage. I guess I'll leave it it unopened for now.

Anyone notice anything or have any difficulties?

Great find, thanks - mine's in the range as well, so I left it unopened and emailed A-T for further guidance. Your suspicion about Urban Outfitters dumping these things is probably spot on, though if the manufacturer resolves the issue in a satisfactory way then I don't really care.

I have mine connected to both the computer and external speakers. I'm able to listen to the music while recording thru the external speakers and listen to playback of the downloaded music thru head phones on the computer.

They made a YouTube vid so you can check to see if your spindle is properly lubricated.

https://youtu.be/3Fqee-M5LKo

Unfortunately, mine is defective. The video is very clear and provides the contact info.

I emailed later in the afternoon confirming the defect, so hope to hear from them in the morning. I'm confident they will repair it. The customer service is located in Ohio, and so far they've been pleasant and quick to respond.

I got that email too, did the test in the video this afternoon... the paper came back with a tiny bit of grease on it, and I guess that's enough to consider it affected because they're starting an RMA process for me.
