Post deleted, item sold out?

Posted a really good deal on a Surface Book today from Ebay with limited quanities, about 15 minutes later the post had 1 like, then 5 minutes later the post was gone. Went back to the Ebay page and all 5 were sold (to the same person). SD moderator buying up cheap stock and deleting posts?

Hi Howie411,

I took a look at the thread in question and it seems that the ebay seller did not meet the requirements to be allowed to be posted here, which is likely why the mod removed your thread.

That seller has only 566 ratings. For Top Rated Plus sellers, the minimum rating allowed is 10,000, so they were far short of that. (If they were not Top Rated Plus, then the requirement would have been at least 20,000 ratings).

Usually we do try to let a user know the ebay rules when we remove a thread, but that mod may just have been very busy at the time and forgot to do so, for which I apologize.

For the future, the ebay rules are:

Must be either from the eBay Daily Deals page (deals.ebay.com)
or
A Top Rated Plus seller, with at least 10,000+ rating and 98%+ feedback
or
Be a well known store like Newegg, Target etc
or
If none of the above, then the seller must have at least 20,000+ rating and 98%+ feedback

The eBay rules are listed in the FAQ thread stickied at the top of the Hot Deals forum here and are also here.

Ah, ok I didn't realize the rating trumped the Top Rated Plus badge. Thanks for the info.
