Hello hello!!
First time post here so please bare with me. I am looking for a cruise from Texas to the Bahamas for 8 adults and 5 children in November 2017. We've never been on a cruise and I have done some looking at a lot of sites but my gosh 🙄🙄🙄 prices are ridiculous!!! (What I have found is 15k and above...eeeekkkkk) No we don't need suites but balconies are a must. Any input is greatly appreciated!!! I'm at a loss.

Look at vacationstogo.com and do a sort by "cheapest balcony" category. I have bought through them and had no problems. However, just to be sure I am getting the best bang for my buck, I write down the ship name, destination, dates and go to cruisecompete.com where travel agents bid for your business. Usually prices don't go lower, but sometimes you can pick up an onboard credit or a bottle of wine per cabin.

You do need the specific cruise info before you go to cruise compete.

Deals are usually as good as you can get on your own, but have gotten extras -- bottle of wine twice and an onboard credit on my last cruise.

Also, after you buy, keep an eye on the price of your cabin and if they go down, call the TA and ask for the sale price. With so many in your group, this can be significant.
